Matt Fischer, a pivotal figure in Apple's App Store operations since 2010, is preparing to depart from the company. His leadership has played a significant role in shaping the App Store into a dominant platform in the tech landscape. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman recently addressed the potential implications of Fischer's exit during an interview with Caroline Hyde on "Bloomberg Technology." The discussion highlighted how this leadership change could impact Apple's strategies and consumer experiences in the evolving app marketplace. As the tech industry continues to adapt, stakeholders are keenly observing how Apple will navigate this transition and what it may mean for developers and users alike. #Apple #AppStore #LeadershipChange #TechIndustry #BloombergTechnology ---------------------- Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/evXWXknf

So the CEO of Insight Timer (Christopher Plowman) went live on CNBC to complain about the App Store rule that affects *his* particular business model and then throws virtually all other developers under the bus. He makes valid points about Apple's monopoly status, most of the world's richest billion people can't be reached without going through the App Store, and he draws a valid comparison to oil companies, telcos etc. But then he says a 30% cut on games is OK. Inconsistent with his own argument and unprincipled. Instead of using the example of Apple taking a 30% cut on voluntary gifts to teachers as a perfect example of what Apple's abusive conduct leads to, he limits the issue to just that part. This way he's not going to find allies among Apple critics (only among the teachers using his platform). Insight Timer vs. Apple: Start-up takes on app store https://cnb.cx/49u4xSR
