There's no doubt we could use a little more civic sense to make our living environment better. For instance, in the recent heavy rains, families living in the former lakes, water bodies and low lying areas, parked their cars on flyovers to prevent rain waters getting into their vehicles. After the waters (were) drained in their areas, and when they took their cars back, they left the stones and bricks used as wheel chocks (wheel stoppers) behind on the flyovers. They failed to have some basic civic sense that these blocks could cause accidents. A big menace in the city is shopkeepers and fanilies dumping their garbage into the drainage systems instead of trash bins placed some distance away from them. The Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Tamilnadu Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin Avl implemented People's Forum", a pilot project in his Chepauk-Triplicane constituency, to improve the overall living environment that includes better civic sense, where economic and environmental improvements are made based on people's feedback. This project was implemented in collaboration with Chennai City Corporation's "Let's Help Ourselves!" program and Leap Green Energy Pvt. Ltd. 's CSR initiative RecycleBinTVM. In recognition of the exemplary action by the young Champion of Inclusion that produced remarkable results, the Union Government presented "Best Practice to Improve the Living Environment Award” to the project. The first all-women electric 3-wheeler rally in India is in progress from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. It was flagged off from Nagpur by Shri Nitin Gadkari as the rally completed over 1600 kilometers in 12 days. "ETOwali/SheAuto" initiative by ETO Motors, focusing on promoting women's involvement in electric 3-wheeler driving as a sustainable career choice. Are tractors slowing down Bangalore…? As someone who commutes daily on my two-wheeler through Bangalore's bustling roads, I’ve noticed a major contributor to our infamous traffic jams – slow-moving tractors. These vehicles, meant for farms and rural areas, are crawling through the city streets, significantly slowing down traffic and adding to the already overwhelming noise pollution. Everyday, I cross about 8 to 10 tractors on my way each side of the travel. While tractors serve an essential purpose in agriculture, their place on city roads is questionable, especially when we are grappling with intense traffic congestion. With Bangalore's reputation being affected due to these bottlenecks, isn't it time we reconsidered allowing such heavy vehicles in the heart of the city? After facing acute water shortage during summer year after year, Nitin sharma and his wife, kshama Sharma, launched Go Waterless Car Care. This initiative was launched in October 2019 under Enterprise Revolution Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Nitin, who completed his BBA from the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE) in Rajasthan, took over his father's automobile business. He was managing a car mechanical workshop in Chhattisgarh and was providing battery and car services to the people. It is said that "A drop of water is worth more to a thirsty man than a bag of gold." This saying is more appropriate in today's times where rapidly growing urban areas are depleting water resources. Through innovation and technology, many challenges can be faced and much can be achieved. Nitin Sharma of Pune, Maharashtra has done the same. The 40-year-old entrepreneur started 'Go Waterless'. It is an initiative that helps people wash their cars by visiting their homes. It operates in 186 pincodes across 22 states. Nitin has invented a plant-based high lubricity spray that can capture dust particles from the surface of automobiles without wasting a single drop of water. “Around 80 to 90 liters of water is used while washing a car at home through pipes. If a bucket is used then 20 liters is consumed and at a service station about 200 liters of water is used. If this amount of water is multiplied by the total number of cars, which is at least 3.5 crore cars in India, it will result in huge water wastage. “With Go Waterless, all the water that is wasted can be conserved.” It is estimated that 3000 BILLION liters of water can be saved by Go Waterless every year in India. 🚀 Exciting update! eBik has recently deployed over 200 units of Electric Conversion Kits for Thela Rickshaws in Delhi city in the last 3 months to address last-mile logistic challenges. Our users include individuals involved in loading work, fruit & vegetable vendors, waste pickers, scrap suppliers, among others. While developing this product, we were in dilemma as to whether Thela Rickshaw Pullers would adopt the product, as this is the first time such a solution is introduced in the country. We delved into the life of a customer to understand their perspective. The male rickshaw puller purchased it to earn more for the betterment of his entire household. His wife encouraged the purchase of product for his health, and their child was thrilled as it was the first time a "Gaadi" was coming home. 🌏 With immense potential in Indian cities, our goal is to positively impact 1 million lives involved in rickshaw pulling directly or indirectly in the coming years. Ayodhya Introduces Electric Carts For Devotees Visiting Ram Temple Battery-powered carts will soon be offered to devotees visiting Ayodhya for prayers at the Ram temple and Hanuman Garhi temple. These e-carts, also known as golf carts, will provide free rides for the elderly, individuals with disabilities (divyangjans), and pregnant women, with fares for others to be announced later. In the initial phase, 650 e-carts will be deployed by March, available at parking lots across the city. The Ayodhya Development Authority is working on a ‘hyperloop model’ for Ayodhya’s overall connectivity, with plans to restrict four-wheelers on the Ram Path, allowing only e-carts in the future.
