The event was a vibrant celebration of the GGBA's achievements and profound impact on the LGBTQ+ business community over the past five decades. Highlight of the Gala - Celebrity host Carson Kressley, an Emmy-Award-winning television star and LGBTQ+ advocate entertained the attendees with his wit and humor throughout the night. - Distinguished speakers graced the event, including San Francisco Mayor London Breed, California State Senator Scott Wiener, GGBA President Tony Archuleta-Perkins, Ryan Weyandt from the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance, Brennan McNell from the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), Gina Grahame from Authentacious, and the power duo Jill Osur and Lisa Orrell. - The gala celebrated the GGBA's 50-year journey, highlighting its resilience, strength, unity, and pride in advocating for LGBTQ+ businesses and entrepreneurs. - The event featured a historical exhibit showcasing the GGBA's storied past since its founding in 1974 as the world's first LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce. - Networking opportunities allowed attendees to connect and forge new partnerships within the LGBTQ+ business community. - Drag performances and surprises added to the festive atmosphere, reflecting the GGBA's commitment to celebrating diversity and inclusion. The 50th-anniversary gala served as a testament to the GGBA's enduring legacy and its unwavering dedication to fostering economic equality and empowerment for LGBTQ+ businesses and entrepreneurs. Getting Ready for Black History Month, South Asian Heritage Month & ESEA Heritage Month: How can your organisation make an impact? A reflection on Race Equality Matters’ Race Network Leaders and Future Leaders Event. Point of View- Isabel Beresford-Cole On the 26th June 2024, Race Equality Matters held an event discussing how organisations can get ready for various heritage months over the next year as part of their Race Network Leaders and Future Leaders Series. The event was highly successful, with 97% of those attending stating that they learned something new from the event that they would implement in their workplace. The event featured three inspiring speakers: Choon Tan, Binita Kane, and Joanna Alexander.
