These little ducks get everywhere! 🐥🐥🐥 One of my favourite Lego® Serious Play® exercises is the 'duck'. It only takes a couple of minutes, yet reveals so much. 🔍 No matter whether there are 3 or 30 people in the room, everyone starts with the same Lego blocks, yet within a few minutes, there is a flock, a badling, a brace, a paddling, a plump, or even a raft of ducks. Yes, there are that many names for a group of ducks, I looked it up. 😉 Everyone has built their version of a duck and has a unique story to tell. While we have fun sharing stories about our ducks, it provides a simple yet effective lesson in diverse thinking. Awesome Workshop with LEGO Serious Play! As part of our ongoing Confidence Programme at Creative Spark, we had the massive privilege of Beccy Irving delivering a LEGO Serious Play workshop for us. It was such a fun and creative way to learn more about ourselves, each other and how we can grow together. We built LEGO models that showed off our strengths and what we each bring to the team. The picture is my model... That's me, balancing many strands, with eyes over everything, keeping aware of whats happening across the business and tackling as needed. It was really cool to see everyone's unique contributions. We also had some great discussions about where we want to improve and how we can support each other in our growth. The best part? We had so much fun while learning! Making models that represented each other was really good too - seeing the strengths that our team mates see in us was really interesting (and a bit of a boost!). A big thank you to Beccy and to everyone who joined in with so much enthusiasm. This workshop definitely brought us closer and gave us new insights to push our projects forward. I like this message. Never seen it before. We all know Lego’s as the toy that about everyone has built something with them. It’s fun to see what we can build with them. Of course we know it would take a lot of Lego’s to build a skyscraper. I have seen some things that they have built with Lego’s. But as the message states, when you build with a few Lego’s, which in life is small steps, that no one see us take or build. Eventually, we will build something big and wonderful. So don’t be embarrassed by small steps. Yes might take us longer to get the task accomplished, whatever it may be. But we will make less mistakes, learn some things we might have never learned and see things we may never of seen. So enjoy stacking those Lego’s and we will make that skyscraper!
