Jessica Dickinson's practice is centered around the creation of dense, atmospheric abstract paintings that explore shifting experiences of time, perception, matter, and consciousness. Optical yet tactile, minimal yet baroque, restrained yet generous, they offer space for the labor and process of paying attention. Making only four paintings a year, her ongoing drawing projects – notebook drawings, traces, works on paper, and remainders – extend these ideas through their own particular materialities and modalities. Dickinson’s works on paper are made alongside, during, and between her painting practice. She uses many of the same tools and methods explored with the paintings, but with drawing materials such as graphite, pastel, wax oil pastel and gouache on thick soft paper. They are painted, marked, picked at, sanded, erased, built upon, carved into and cut into. Within this series, personal revelations are translated into an abstract language, characterized by various color and line qualities, spatial suggestions, shifting perspectives, fleeting lines, and expressive bursts of color, all contributing to a poetic narrative. The artworks in this series depict abstract forms reminiscent of water bodies, created intuitively to evoke organic shapes and flowing movement. In the process of creating this particular piece, I carefully applied acrylic colors diluted with water, allowing them to flow freely on the canvas. Difference Between Acrylic and Oil Paintings Acrylic and oil paintings represent two distinct yet widely embraced mediums in the art world. Acrylics, water-based and quick-drying, offers artists the flexibility to work rapidly with layers and textures, allowing for versatile applications and the creation of various effects. They dry to a flexible, plastic-like finish and can be easily cleaned up with water, making them less toxic than their oil-based counterpart. On the other hand, oil paintings, composed of pigments suspended in drying oils like linseed oil, boast a slower drying time, permitting artists to achieve intricate details, smooth blends, and subtle color transitions. However, this longer drying period demands patience and may affect the final appearance of the artwork as colors subtly shift during the drying process. Oils often require solvents for cleanup and have a more pronounced odor. Traditional paper marbling Tutorial ~ 3 ~ Brushes and Needles Brushes and needles used in marbling art play a fundamental role in the creative process, each serving an important function in shaping the character of the artwork. Brushes are typically made from horsehair, which helps evenly distribute paint on the water surface. The handles of the brushes are usually made from wood such as rosewood, providing durability. Needles are used to manipulate paint drops on the water surface and create patterns. They come in various thicknesses and shapes (thin, thick, round, or pointed) to produce different designs. The tips of the needles are typically made of metal, especially stainless steel or brass, while the handles are made of wood. I’m a self-employed artist and fashion designer, specializing in body-shaping clothing, original art pieces,  I create unique and Stereo realistic of acrylic paintings and I also create unique Chinese style paintings.               About my painting style -- My inspiration comes from many years of exploring Chinese and Western painting. (Two years old begins the foundation sketch of oil painting)  In my works I apply the techniques skills of traditional Chinese painting in oil painting. Thus, developing an entirely new creative style that's all my own.  Dear friends, my computer illustration technique comes from my oil painting three-dimensional style. The design concept comes from the golden ratio of nature. The golden ratio is the most harmonious ratio. There are arithmetic sequence, Fibonacci sequence and golden spiral. The composition of the golden helix: the golden rectangle minus the square can infinitely generate equal proportion of the golden rectangle, with the side length of these equal proportion of the reduced square as the radius to draw a quarter circle, connected to form a perfect helix, namely the golden helix.

The story is mine In the quiet of an art gallery, amidst the hushed murmurs of observers, there hangs a painting unlike any other. Its title, "The story is mine," whispers of narratives waiting to unfurl. As you step closer, the colors and shapes seem to move, inviting you in. And as your gaze locks with the canvas, something remarkable happens. The story, once owned by the artist, starts belonging to you. At first, it's a mere whisper that brushes against the canvas of your mind. But with each passing moment, it grows louder, more insistent, until it envelops you entirely. Suddenly, you're no longer an observer but a participant, a co-creator in this tale. Perhaps you visualize this face telling you his story. Or maybe you conceive what you would want to tell this person. The possibilities are endless, limited only by the bounds of your imagination. And yet, even as the story now feels like yours, traces of the artist's hand linger like echoes, guiding your steps and shaping your choices. But just as quickly as it began, the story fades, leaving you standing once more before a mere canvas. And yet, in its wake, it leaves behind a sense of wonder, a lingering reminder that within the realm of art, anything is possible, and the stories are ours to claim. a year ago i put the final touches on this painting aft er some 3 years of just staring at it. this was an excercise in appropriation, part of a series constructed primarily from two varieties of e-flute cardboard scraps and black acrylic, featuring nails and bits of string, mounted on canvas board marked in pencil, signed in oil pastel. frame was repurposed from lifeless big store wall art. the series also featured some translations in wood and aluminum. although not readily apparent, many of my paintings are constructed much like my graphic designs or page layouts - following some form of mathematic principles, playing with symmetry, ratios, proximity, balance, division, and meaning.

Highly charged Vibrant colors that viewers find captivating, expressive gestural strokes and an overall composition emanating energy yet balance. Those words could describe most of my artworks. The themes I chose tend to fall in either of three broad categories: abstract, faces and landscapes. Today I am showing you one of my most recent landscape paintings. They generally do not depict a specific place. Most of them have some form of mountains since these massive and often fierce expressions of nature fascinate me. Again, it is the energy and balance that lies in them and resonates with me. I am living in Bavaria close to the alps where one often sees such scenes. They became well known to a wide audience through many works of the Blaue Reiter who also cherished this specific area. Now, take a dive into the depths, shapes and colors of „Highly charged“. Sharing some work that’s been in development for the last while. Abstract waveforms inspired by weather data. I’ll be translating this style through all aspects of my practice from wall art like this to sculpture to installation.
