🔥 AI is Scaling at Lightning Speed – 58% of global executives are set to scale AI in 2025, yet Europe captures just 7% of AI investment. Will Europe step up?
⚡ Quantum Computing is Here – Industries from finance to healthcare are bracing for disruption. How can Europe ensure quantum innovation stays within its borders?
🌍 Energy & AI – A Sustainability Paradox – AI could consume as much power as the Netherlands by 2027. How do we balance AI’s potential with Europe’s green goals?
💶 Europe Needs a Unified Capital Market – Christine Lagarde & BlackRock emphasized that Europe must unlock capital for tech startups, or risk losing the next Microsoft to Silicon Valley.
☁️ Digital Sovereignty is Non-Negotiable – With €148 billion in EU digital infrastructure at risk, cloud, AI, and cybersecurity must be owned and controlled within Europe.
🌟 These are not just talking points. They are action points.
At GITEX EUROPE 2025, we bring together tech leaders, 500+ speakers, and the most powerful AI & deeptech innovations to accelerate Europe’s digital future.

#European leaders and experts at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2025 in #Davos did not shy away from addressing the region's difficult situation.
The acknowledgment of an uncomfortable new reality was threaded throughout the many Europe-focused portions of this year’s meeting. Here's what they said.

#Davos Day Three: More panels, more AI—but first, where’s Europe?
Europe needs to step up. That’s been the recurring theme in my conversations with business and government leaders. Geopolitical and economic uncertainty is at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
While the U.S. benefits from a pro-business administration and Asia boasts some of the world’s fastest-growing economies, Europe seems to be missing from the action. Walking along the promenade, the presence of American, Asian, and Middle Eastern delegations is unmistakable. But where is Europe? And where is the UK?
One CEO I spoke with last night stressed that Europe must address its regulatory landscape to make it easier for businesses to operate. “What Asia is gaining, Europe is losing,” he noted.
Another executive observed that Europe is a major topic of discussion in Davos, yet its presence feels muted.

The recognition and celebration of leaders like Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala are not only well-deserved but deeply significant for the broader narrative of diversity, equality, and excellence in leadership. Her journey, marked by remarkable achievements and a trailblazing path, is a profound inspiration to all, particularly for those of us in leadership roles or striving to make a meaningful impact in our respective fields.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala's appointment as the first African and first female Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO) breaks barriers while underscoring the power of meritocracy. It is a testament to the institution's commitment to choosing the best fit for the job—irrespective of race, gender, or background—thereby reinforcing the importance of competence and vision over prejudice. Her leadership has already begun reshaping the landscape of global trade, addressing critical issues with an inclusive and pragmatic approach.
Her second-term re-election, effective 1st September 2025, further solidifies the global recognition of her capabilities and her profound influence on shaping the future of global commerce. It is not just her role as a leader but her example as a mentor and role model that continues to inspire emerging leaders worldwide.

This Saturday morning in São Paulo, as I flipped through my copy of The Economist, I came across an ad showcasing why the UK is the ideal place to grow a business. It couldn’t be more timely, following the impactful discussions at the World Economic Forum in #Davos this week. Chancellor Rt Hon Rachel Reeves and Secretary of State for Business & Trade Jonathan Reynolds MP presented the UK’s bold plan for #growth, anchored by the upcoming Industrial Strategy, which showcases the immense opportunities for businesses looking to expand in a globally connected environment.
This strategy underscores the UK’s political and economic stability, a pro-business government that’s reducing regulatory burdens, and an unmatched network of trade relationships spanning Europe, Latin America, Asia, and beyond.
Key highlights of this vision include a £21bn investment in Carbon Capture, Usage, and Storage (CCUS) to build a new industry of the future, and a 10-year AI Opportunities Action Plan positioning the UK at the forefront of technology innovation. Notably, PwC’s annual CEO survey has ranked the UK as the 2nd most important place in the world to invest — the highest ranking we’ve ever achieved.
As I dive into the rest of the magazine, I’ll be keeping an eye out for more opportunities to strengthen the connections between the UK and Latin America. Who knows, maybe there’s even more inspiration for helping companies leverage the UK as the ultimate launchpad for international growth.
And if you’re ready to grow your business in the most connected place in the world, start here: https://lnkd.in/deEkDTXB#WorldEconomicForum#Davos2025#Trade#Investment#AIInnovation
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?
This question resonates deeply as global leaders gather at this year’s World Economic Forum in #Davos this week under the theme “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age”.
At a time when protectionism and geopolitical tensions dominate the headlines, it’s crucial to remember that #GlobalTrade is not just about goods – it’s about shared prosperity. As WTO Chief Economist Ralph Ossa points out, protectionist policies may seem like quick fixes – offering short-term economic boosts or protecting domestic job – but in the long term, they ultimately lead to higher prices, reduced consumer choice, and, among other things, economic uncertainty.
#Collaboration, on the other hand, strengthens supply chains, fosters innovation, and drives economic growth across regions. It’s through cooperation that we can address global challenges – from trade disputes to the energy transition – with shared solutions that benefit all.
At Rhenus Logistics, we see the impact of global collaboration every day. Whether it’s facilitating supply chains between LATAM, Europe, Asia, or other key regions around the globe, and supporting customers in navigating complex trade environments, our work underscores the importance of connectivity and cooperation.
Let’s embrace the spirit of collaboration to build resilient economies and stronger global connections. Especially in light of current times and the political developments in individual nations, collaboration has become more important than ever. As discussions continue at the #WEF25, it’s clear that finding shared solutions to global challenges requires collective effort and mutual trust. Only together can we unlock the true potential of global trade. 🌍

The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2025 is now officially underway.
With us in #Davos are 3,000 leaders from around the world and from across the public and private sectors. We are meeting at one of the most uncertain geopolitical and geo-economic moments in generations.
We are at an inflection point—2025 will be a year of enormous consequence. It will affect the course ahead the way other pivotal years of history—1918, 1945, 1989—have. We are facing rapid advancements in technologies that are reshaping economies; changing power dynamics that are remaking global relations and new #trade policies that are redesigning commerce.
The longstanding international order that existed for the last three decades has receded. We are now between orders and the next order has not yet taken shape. At this critical moment, we must ensure the jungle of #geopolitics does not grow back. Non-cooperation cannot become the new normal.
We just came off the hottest year on record; the number and intensity of #conflicts around the world have risen sharply and the possibility of another global health crisis is ever looming.
We can only address these challenges—and we can only unlock new economic opportunities—together. It is the only way to make #progress.
This will be the focus of this important week: developing pathways for greater #cooperation at a complex moment for the world.
I am confident we can do it. #wef25

A marathon of meetings this week rounded off to tuning in to listen to President Donald Trump's remote address to world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The address, Trump's first major speech to global business and political leaders since returning to the White House, has certainly captured the world's attention.
His speech, a tapestry of global issues, touched upon the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, whilst underlining his bold stance on tariffs. Trump delivered his address to an esteemed panel that included:
* Ana Patricia Botin, chairwoman of the Spanish bank Santander
* Brian Moynihan, CEO of Bank of America,
* Patrick Pouyanne, CEO of TotalEnergies
* Stephen Schwarzman, CEO and Co-Founder of Blackstone Group, and
* Borge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum.
In his remarks, Trump harshly criticised allies Canada and the European Union over trade deficits. He also discussed ongoing negotiations with Russia and China to end the Ukraine war, while pushing Saudi Arabia to lower oil prices. Additionally, he highlighted the "Stargate Project," a collaboration between OpenAI, Oracle, and Japan's SoftBank to build $500 billion worth of AI infrastructure in the United States.
Trump also reaffirmed the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on climate change - a move with significant global implications. It underscores the Trump's administration's focus on energy independence and economic growth, despite the potential environmental consequences.
In addition, he reaffirmed commitment to shutting down DEI (diversity and inclusion) initiatives, emphasizing a merit-based system for two genders—male and female. This stance, along with his other bold declarations, continues to shape the discourse.
As the world navigates complex times, humanity faces an intriguing and uncertain future. It makes one ponder: Is the international stage truly ready for what is to come and prepared for the ripple effects of such bold decisions by the US? 🌍
