It's #ThrowbackThursday and we're throwing it back to July 2024 when GKN Aerospace celebrated a major milestone: delivering the complete composite wing assembly and booms for Supernal’s first electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) demonstrator aircraft! These critical components, integral to Supernal's Full-scale Technology Demonstrator (FSTD), were manufactured at our Bristol and Cowes sites in the UK—highlighting our expertise and partnership in shaping the future of zero-emissions flight. John Pritchard, speaking at the Farnborough International Air Show, shared: "We are thrilled to support Supernal’s multi-year eVTOL testing programme, contributing to the transition to zero-emissions flight. Delivering these vital aerostructures showcases our expertise in advanced aerostructures and materials." We're proud to play a key role in Supernal’s journey to revolutionize sustainable air mobility. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue supporting this groundbreaking programme! As leaders of the HyFIVE consortium, we're exploring entirely new technologies to support hydrogen-powered aviation. But what makes Marshall qualified for this immensely complex challenge? As Marshall Futureworx Director Kieren Paterson explains, we have over 40 years of experience developing fuel systems—both as OEM and supplier—for the likes of Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Airbus and Embraer. Additionally, we're used to certifying advanced systems before they've entered the mainstream or become part of a mature regulatory framework. We're also fortunate to be partnering with industry leaders GKN Aerospace and Parker Meggitt, creating a true powerhouse of expertise.
