☀ My take on the typical summer post from companies: "Our team is on summer break from ... to... See you all when we are back in the office" It is great to inform that you won't be actively working and answering questions, emails and messages during the summer period, but going radio silent during this time is (in my opinion) a missed opportunity! 💡 My advice: plan content and schedule it before leaving the office. You can recycle old posts, remind your audience of content they can access in your website (blog posts, articles, videos...) and even share the highlights of the first half of the year. 😱 You can also share a more personal side of your business: for example, what your colleagues love about the summer or pictures from the party/dinner/gathering you arranged to celebrate summer at work. Job seekers, do whatever you can do to learn more about a company's culture. Here are a few more questions I encourage my clients to ask in interviews and as part of their networking efforts. 1. When was the last time you were happy about something at work, and what was it? 2. What's different about working here than anywhere else you've worked? 3. What's your favorite office tradition? 4. How has the company changed since you joined? 5. How are people held accountable when they don't behave consistently with the company's values? 6. Who is respected here, and why? The key is to read between the lines, watch the interviewer's body language, and see how quickly a genuine answer comes to mind. Reach out for more interviewing and career advice!
