A nice article from Glatt Group so the English translation is below folks for those who have an interest ..... Robots in OSD production. Why only robots can make pharmaceutical solids production fit for the future? Robotics will play a central role in sustainable and future-proof factory planning in OSD production. But how can fully digitalized, automated pharmaceutical production be realized with an integrated concept? What thoughts Glatt has given to it. Glatt Group is addressing the topic of robotics in pharmaceutical production with the Pharma OSD Future Factory. Since the new Annex 1 requires pharmaceutical companies to automate critical process steps more, robotics has become the measure of all things. Glatt Ingenieurtechnik addresses the topic of robotics with the Pharma OSD Future Factory. In the fast-paced world of pharmaceutical and biotechnological production, automation and robotics are no longer options, but indispensable, the company emphasizes. As a system integrator, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik wants to accompany its customers on the way to the factory of the future. This includes, for example, the integration of hardware and software functions into advanced, holistic automation systems, ranging from MES and DCS/SCADA systems to robot and AGV systems. The company has completely redesigned the use of robots in pharmaceutical production, especially for solid moulds, by arranging the process stations in such a way that the robot system can optimally operate the various stations and eliminate the need for complex vertical and horizontal handling techniques. A fully functional total system. In addition to automation, the focus of planning is on the digitisation and networking of processes and systems. Glatt Ingeniertechnik can access all planning trades in-house in order to develop the best solution for the respective customer project. As a system integrator, the team includes experienced process and automation technicians as well as plant engineers and all the necessary technical disciplines. The company offers system integration up to the fully installed and functional process plant at the customer's site from a single source.

Flexible and modular production of bio ATMPs - which requirements and solution concepts can be used to implement these? Our expert Dirk Steinhaeuser talked about this during his lecture „Modular ATMP production - Case study: Planning and implementation of a new flexible (modular) ATMP production facility“ at ACHEMA 2024 on Monday this week. Various layout concepts were presented for modular implementation, in which the use of flexible cleanrooms (production sections) is envisaged. These rooms are constructed in modular units that can be easily extended, reduced or reconfigured to meet different production requirements. The use of such cleanrooms therefore also enables rapid changeover between different production lines or processes. These aspects are particularly important for the manufacture of ATMPs due to the numerous manual production steps that are involved. Find out more insights from Mitko Buck, Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences, Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Engineering on CHEManager online (article in German): https://lnkd.in/e3Nizt2c Many thanks to Mitko Buck and CHEManager for the great report! #achema #atmp #modularproduction #glatt

The US$250bn AI value potential for pharma - the use of artificial intelligence (#AI) could prove to be vastly lucrative for the #pharmaceutical industry. For major global #pharma players, this could even mean a doubling of operating profits by 2030. In order to capitalize on this enormous potential, however, the industry needs to pursue no less than a re-invention. Our forthcoming Strategy& report "Re-inventing Pharma with Artificial Intelligence" shows how this re-invention can succeed so that PharmaCos can improve their speed, quality and cost efficiency through the use of AI. In anticipation of the official study launch, I discussed with Maike Telgheder from Handelsblatt where the greatest AI potential lies and how the industry can successfully realize this - thank you for the insightful interview! You can read the entire article here (German-Paywall): https://lnkd.in/dwkTPJzr Dr. Thomas Solbach, Dr. Jens Neumann, Fabian Ahrens, Johannes Dizinger, Jonathan Müller, Christelle Azar, Dr. Matthias Schlemmer, Matthias Leybold, Colin Light, Thalita Marinho, Ronald Chopoorian, Andreas Spaene, Jan-Philipp Loch.
