Important topic to learn. Most people think #AI will eliminate some jobs, that's not necessarily true. If the GenAI model does not have enough info to create/generate new answers, the system will fail (or hallucinate). Most of the info GenAI uses to create will continue be created by/from humans. One pivotal shift in AI research has been the transition from general-purpose search mechanisms, often referred to as “weak methods,” to more powerful, domain-specific knowledge-based systems. This blog delves into the historical context, challenges, and the transformative impact of knowledge-based systems in AI.

#GenerativeAI can “distort collective understanding of socio-political reality or scientific consensus,” and in many cases is already doing that, according to a new research paper from Google DeepMind. Instead of worrying about the “existential risk” that AI poses to humanity, we should focus on the real harm that generative AI is already causing and could get worse in the future. Namely, that generative AI makes it very easy for anyone to flood the internet with untrustworthy text, audio, images, and videos.
