So we're delighted to be here at London Climate Action Week talking about the need to get deforestation finally out of portfolios. That's an achievable goal. We need to see it by the end of next year at COP 30 in Berlin. London Climate Action Week like London. Why is this relevant? London is a great financial center. We know from our research that there's six to seven trillion dollars of private finance fuelling deforestation and only some 20% of those financial institutions that. Strong net zero commitments. Have anything at all on deforestation? 80% are still at the starting line, so that's London and finance climate. Why climate? Well, deforestation contributes about 11% of global carbon emissions. Food and Agri overall 25%. And solutions in deforestation, tackling deforestation, regenerating forests, that's up to 1/3 of the solution to climate change. So this is absolutely pivotal. And at the same time, forests give us a bridge. To another huge crisis, the nature crisis and entwined crisis of climate and nature. And that bridge can help us to see action today, not just on climate change but also on tackling the nature crisis. That's hugely, hugely important. Action, let's go to the third word. We are providing as Global Canopy a whole range of tools in alignment with many other partners here at Climate Week. And we've got data, we've got metrics, we've got targets that are increasingly aligned among our community on deforestation and which connect into climate targets and metrics and now nature, climate, nature targets and metrics. Today, we're launching a new initiative called Deaf that's a deforestation free transition pathway, which is one more tool in the Armory that aims to do 2 things. One, it helps drive better aligned engagement from the finance sector on companies to shift them to influence them to get deforestation out of their supply chains and operations. And at the same time, it offers a transition pathway that allows for better integration with climate transition pathways. And now nature transition pathways that are coming to the fore and finally weak learning. Climate Action Week will look being here a chance to take stock, to reflect, to connect, make the partnerships, the discussions that can lead us to innovation going forward. But we need this to be an everyday mission. We need to spread action on deforestation across the entire finance sector and stay focused on it. And we hope that death and the rest of our partnership tools. And help with that mission. We need this kind of transition of the sector. At the same time, we need triage to look at the most critical places. They're most critical issues, the Amazons reaching a tipping point. There are some issues that just can't wait. So we need triage, we need transition and at the same time we need transformation. We're not going to get there just through incremental transition. We need to transform our system. We need new ideas and all three of these things need to happen at once. And we're grateful to my. And Alexa, who shared that framework and it's one that will guide our work for the weeks, months and years ahead. Triage, transition and transformation all at the same time.

“Fundamentally, climate justice and environmental justice are not just about inclusion – whether its mitigation, restoration, conversation, or transformation – environmental justice advances our climate goals… What we are talking about isn’t just an appeal to a moral cause or an attempt to get people to care about something, it’s really to understand that in any conversation about climate there’s already solutions, and they’re very clear, and it doesn’t take a lot of calculation but it does take a shifting of the frame in how we’re approaching this issue.” Pedro Henriques da Silva (Sierra Club Foundation) - one CSLN’s fabulous Banking on Climate Justice contributors – skillfully carries this conversation forward in kicking off and moderating a fantastic panel on “Climate's Most Overlooked Solution” during Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR)’s Spring 2024 Conference last month. He and the outstanding speakers Sabrina S.
