We were in Croatia on January 7th for a reunion with some of the more than 600 children we operated on between 1993 and 2003. For my heart surgeon and pediatric cardiology friends and colleagues, how many of you have performed a Senning operation on an 11-month-old and seen her 26 years later, and oh by the way she is 7 months pregnant? The baby has a normal fetal echo. Many patients brought their children and parents, It was a fabulous day. A big thanks to Big Heart for a Little Heart (Croatian Foundation, the NFCA (Croatian American organization), and all my former colleagues for making this a truly memorable and very emotional experience.
