To help secure a #NaturePositive world this decade, governments must urgently implement their ten Leaders' Pledge for Nature commitments. ■But action is needed accross society; from businesses, financial institutions, cities, sub-national governments, indigenous people, youth, communities and individuals. The Race Is On to secure a #NaturePositive world, in support of climate action and the Sustainable Development Goals. A transformative action for an equitable, #NaturePositive and #CarbonNeutral world. The #symptoms of our #unbalanced #relationship with the #naturalworld, and of our #unsustainable production and consumption patterns, are impossible to miss: record global temperatures; pandemics; one million species at risk of extinction. ■We urgently need to change the course. ■World leaders shall make critical decisions on climate and the environment. #Together, they #can and #must take ambitious and integrated action on our interconnected challenges and deliver an equitable, #NaturePositive and #CarbonNeutral world for all. Endorsed by 130 businesses and financial institutions with combined revenues of $1.1 trillion, the Business for Nature's new statement, published today, sets out five high-level policy recommendations that can help accelerate the implementation of the #BiodiversityPlan to drive corporate #nature action. We also support this statement and its objectives, particularly to: ✅ Make sure business and finance protect nature and restore degraded ecosystems ✅ Ensure sustainable resource use and management to reduce negative environmental impacts ✅ Value and embed nature in decision-making and disclosure Our revised #Biodiversity Standard (#GRI101), aligned with the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, is there to help organizations better understand which decisions and business practices lead to biodiversity loss, where in their value chain impacts occur, and how they can be managed.
