The teacher is the cog in the wheel of education. Investing in the teacher is one of the ways of ensuring that there is quality teaching and learning. Continuous professional development has to be prioritised to ensure that teachers are supported to keep up approaches that help them navigate the dynamics presented in the ecosystem of learning. The strategies can be as many as we can think, however the difference between their effectiveness and lack of it is the person of the teacher. One strategy that is bearing positive results is the use of #communitiesoflearning. Teachers make one of the largest communities in any society. At the micro level, when they are organised in homogenous groups and provided with a platform for engagement, they will carry this into their classrooms and the outcome is quality learning. The key to this is structure and commitment to the process. Teachers who use this as a learning opportunity create a support system that can be explored without fear of looking incompetent. What other methods can be used to support teachers as they work to improve the quality of practice in their individual classroom .

Quality education depends on a conducive teaching and learning environment, but most importantly, on well-qualified and trained teachers.

I think a lot about the 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and its need in the first place. 🤔 Traditionally, what we refer to as education in school is literacy. This is my best understanding.
