If a Managing Director is not professionally experienced and their decision-making power is not in the right direction, then any school, college, or university will never be able to run well and succeed. Definitely, the institution is likely to struggle and fail to achieve its goals. #Thoughtsoftheday #school #college #university #director #educational #managingdirector #direction

I’m not a Pittsburg Steelers fan 🤷♂️ but I am a fan of their coach Mike Tomlin’s philosophy.. 👉 “It’s not what you’re capable of, it’s what you’re willing to do.” The idea being: • talent alone isn’t enough • education alone isn’t enough • accolades alone aren’t enough • title alone isn’t enough There are lots of things I’m capable of. There are lots of things you’re capable of. No question, we know this. The question is.. 👉 what am I, what are you, what are we willing to do to get from point A (where we are today) to point B (where we want to be)? What are you WILLING to do? 🤔 I’m capable of making cold calls to increase my pipeline and close more deals BUT.. • am I willing to consistently put in the time, energy, and effort into cold calling? 🤔 I’m capable of doing the work, the studying, the growing, the learning to advance my career BUT.. • am I willing to consistently (and patiently) put in this level of work until I land the promotion or career advancement I’m after? 🤔 I’m capable of running my business BUT.. .• am I willing to make the sacrifices, the time, and consistent commitments necesssry to see the business through to success and profitability? 🤔 I’m capable of running a 50 mile race BUT.. .• am I willing to commitment to 6 months of training and necessary discipline and that goes into preparing for such a race and distance? 🤔 BTW - nothing wrong with saying, “no, I’m not willing.” Better to own it, admit to it than not. The question is never, are you capable? The question is always, are you willing? CTA - whatever the goal (for you, your kids, your team, your colleagues).. remeber it’s not about what they or you are capable of doing, It’s what you’re willing to do that.. that’s what matters. #motivation #sales #coaching #skyeisthelimit

Recruitment | Executive Search MD | Supporting Manufacturing & Engineering Companies In The Midlands, Shropshire & Staffordshire To Recruit & Retain Great Staff & Visionary leaders | 24 Years In The Recruitment Industry.
This is what I call proper training.... 📞I was chatting to one of our biggest clients this morning, catching up before I jump on a plane on my holidays ✈️ to see how the 2 newest recruits were settling in, 1 is in a leadership role and the other in the thick of sales (yes i do that.... you do hear from me once I've placed with you) He told me that they had a product expert coming over from their head office overseas to work with them for 8 weeks to give them all the training they need! This is an incredible investment for my client to make, it really does set them apart from lots of other businesses. Alot of people are too scared to put initial investment in just incase they leave, but this is the best time to put in that investment.... I do the same myself with new starters into my business, I don't just expect someone to be able to crack on and do the job. they need the tools and expertise to fly. I know these 2 will definately fly. What investment do you put into your new starters in the first few months? This is a true example of a client is sharing my value of #placingpeoplefirst #placingvisionaryleaders #westmidlands #shropshire #manufacturing #engineering

Great to see this proposal taking shape: what we need now is a similar focus on growing the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District. As Tom indicates, this tech scaling up process is no quick fix, having much more a “generational” and “decadal” time frame for measurable impact. After all Sheffield Technology Parks itself has been in existence since 1988 when it was set up to support the growth of the city’s tech sector. Something it has done consistently since then. Add to this a steady trickle of spinouts emerging each year from The University of Sheffield and it’s possible to see the “spine” of the city becoming a landing/launch pad for pre-scale ups and scale ups that might one day need larger plots of land dwithin AMID. Across the Pennines in the Manchester Model being pioneered in the “Geek”, suggest there may be smarter ways of growing startups and scale ups, especially in materials and manufacturing , modelled on the US skunk works that places such as Sheffield could usefully explore and perhaps learn from, to accelerate the number of “SMEs” needing a first home in the heart of the city, as Sheffield Hallam University is doing to great effect in the Don Valley/Attercliffe. Manchester’s industry-led method within a higher education framework (with no grant funding to the R&D institution itself but direct to start ups via competitive tendering) can create a much more agile, entrepreneurial, risk-taking culture ( fail fast) alongside a “virtuous circle” of business innovation, development and growth. A model that is attracting serious VC investment from Cambridge to Qatar.
A couple of years have passed since Andy Hogben and I first started exploring how we can prime Sheffield to accommodate a growing number of scaling tech, science and other ip-rich businesses in the City Centre over the coming years. It started as some lab space, and has morphed into what could be an exciting vision for Sheffield with a generational impact across the coming decades. A clustering of our most advanced companies complementing our rich cultural offerings, a new City Centre retail core and the new housing and accommodation at Furnace Hill and other sites recently announced. The next two years are an opportunity to unpack what this might look like, and Sheffield Technology Parks, The University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield City Council, and South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority have joined forces to appoint a Project Director to drive this forwards. The Project Director role will be instrumental in navigating a broad range of stakeholders and interested 3rd parties to explore how this vision can and will become a reality. We're just at the beginning of this journey and the PD will make this project their own. They'll be employed via STP as the accountable body, but very much working as a partnership across all the project partners. If you or someone you know might be interested in the role, please head to https://lnkd.in/eqEYfiKB or email jobs@shefftechparks.com for more information

Consistency 1) In your own performance. 2) In your standards & the expectations of others. 3) In the delivery and conduct from teachers & support staff. 4) In decisions made using rationale and measure. 5) In being consistent. Very underrated yet incredibly important.

What is the most important characteristic of a successful school administrator? I believe that the #1 characteristic of a successful school administrator is the ability to communicate effectively. This means not only being decisive and assertive in a respectable manner but also being an attentive listener. Listening to understand, not just to respond! School administrators are responsible for leading a team of educators and staff, managing budgets, and ensuring the academic success of their students. Effective communication is essential in all of these areas. Without it, misunderstandings can occur, and goals may not be met. When school administrators communicate effectively, they create a culture of transparency and trust. They are able to build positive relationships with their staff, students, and parents. This, in turn, leads to a more productive and collaborative work environment, where everyone is working towards the same goal. #thoughtfortoday #schooladministration #communicationiskey #educationleadership
