We just had our annual virtual Pride Month event: Drag Queen Bingo! 🤩🌈 Our employees had a great time playing and getting the chance to win some amazing prizes.
Thank you so much to Maeve Haven for making this event such a success!

Four years ago this week, the word ground to a virtual halt. The #sportsbiz was impacted as much as any other industry.
In some ways, it seems like yesterday. In others, it seems like a lifetime ago.
I do remember telling myself that if I made it through the lock down I would never again complain about being too busy.
So, as I near the end of a great engagement I've had for the past several months, I find myself looking to add some partners to my dance card. So, if you have a need for an outside resource, or know someone who does, please keep me in mind.
But, I digress. Let's mark the anniversary by recognizing the nice people around us through the weekly Nice Guy Awards.
Every Friday, I’ll share nominations for people who have been identified as nice guys (and gals).
If you want to nominate someone, just shoot me a private message by 5:00 EST on Thursday.
There are only 3 requirements:
1) you have to be connected to the person you nominate
2) you can only nominate one person per week
3) you can’t nominate yourself 😀
If you want to provide a brief reason for your selection, that’s great, but it’s not a requirement.
Let’s recognize people who make a difference simply by being nice.
Have a great day, everyone.

Well, that game certainly didn't disappoint. And the market wasn't bad either. It still remains to be seen whether the powers that be (i.e., the casino owners) want Vegas to host another #SuperBowl, but it seems to have been a great day/weekend/week in Sin City.
Let's have another great week by starting it with opening nominations for the Nice Guy/Gal Awards.

New Year, Same You
I hosted my first party at age 13 - a Halloween party with a small group of friends. I spent weeks planning every detail, from the decor to games with prizes and, of course, the thematic food.
I also spent hours creating an epic mixed tape of party music. Along with classics like Monster Mash, I made sure to have Jim Croce, Tom Petty, and Depeche Mode at the ready. I loved those artists and as the kids say these days, "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" is a real bop.
Unfortunately, it took about 20 minutes for me to realize I wasn't playing popular music; I was mortified - how could I have made such a mistake? If only I had just gotten a couple copies of Jock Jams, things would have been perfect.
Thankfully, a friend (and neighbor) jetted across the lawn and came back with her collection of far cooler music - we pivoted and fun resumed.
Did I take some flack for singing loudly about a roller derby queen? Sure. But what people really remembered were the prizes and pumpkin carving contest and the fact that Annie and Nick kissed near the cauldron of punch - which absolutely had dry ice in it to create smoke because, like I said, I planned for weeks.
So as you slide into 2024 and everyone around you is resolving to do this or that, improve one thing or another, I say, keep being you. Embrace your quirks and your faults - focus attention on your strengths and how you can leverage them to help others and propel your career forward.
And while you're embracing your awesomeness, remember some wise words from our friend, Jim: "If you dig it, do it once. If you dig it a lot, do it twice."

Just had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Fawn Weaver, the CEO of Uncle Nearest, my favorite whisky here in Nashville at the AMAC Conference. Thanks AMAC. Two key takeaways:
1) Fawn has an incredible background story.
2) If you are a whiskey lover and haven't tried Uncle Nearest yet, you're missing out! Join the club.

Scottie Scheffler is really good at golfing. And as he wakes up to see another green jacket hanging in his closet, Caitlin Clark wakes up for the last time not being the #1 pick in the WNBA draft.
And we have all woken up to the opportunity to recognize a Nice Guy or Gal.
