Great conversation here on this post!
“This is new ground for all of us and we know it's got to be done the right way,” said Robert Crain, executive vice president of Texas Pacific Water Resources, a company seeking to discharge treated water. “We’re not the only folks that are chasing this.” Leading up to the much-anticipated Produced Water Society meeting in Midland next week, here's an important article in the The Texas Tribune by Martha Pskowski and Dylan Baddour covering the opportunities and challenges for the beneficial reuse paradigm. It's important to point out that the treated water in question will undoubtedly be cleaner and less toxic than the surface water being discharged into. As such, those opposing this practice seem to have a larger issue with the origin of these waters, and not the quality of the terminal effluents, which is not a data-driven perspective. We are delighted to share that we’re working with Greater Western Water (GWW) to launch our wastewater pilot projects. This collaboration is a pivotal step in addressing the challenges faced by rapidly urbanising areas under GWW’s management. Through this project, we aim to achieve the following: System Vulnerability Analysis: Utilize our AssetAdvanced software to gain insights into the network's vulnerability to blockages and failures. Future Growth Preparedness: Assess and enhance the system's capability to accommodate future growth without jeopardising performance. We are excited to bring our expertise to this crucial project, helping Greater Western Water ensure a resilient and efficient wastewater system for the growing population. Stay tuned for more updates on our journey to drive impactful solutions and sustainable water management! #Optimatics #GreatWesternWater #Water #Wastewater #AssetAdvanced

🔍 Hello LinkedIn community! In our recent presentation on hydraulic fracking through the Water-Energy Nexus approach, we highlighted the critical need for robust policy improvements to address gaps in managing water resources for fracking. Given our nation's water stress, it's vital for emerging stakeholders in the fracking sector to advocate for stronger federal and state regulatory frameworks. Enhancing transparency and accountability between authorities is key to effective water management. While the U.S. has made progress in assessing the water footprint of fracking, more comprehensive mapping and management are needed for sustainable practices. Our group proposed actionable recommendations to balance energy production with responsible water use through a nexus approach . 🌍💧 We would love to hear you thoughts on this ! 💧What steps can we take to better manage water resources in hydraulic fracking while balancing energy production and environmental concerns? Lake Windermere in the Lake District is not just one of the UK’s favourite beauty spots, but is also a SSIS – a Site of Special Scientific Interest. However, despite all the headlines earlier in the year, yet again untreated sewage has been continuously discharged into sites which flow into Windermere. Matt Staniek, founder of the Save Windermere campaign group claims that the overflows should only operate in ‘exceptional circumstances’ and not as a regular occurrence. He says, "I just think that we've had a wet summer in the Lake District and that these sites should already have the capacity to deal with that." Ofwat has set out measures so that companies will face penalties if they do not fully monitor their storm overflows – and that is where CSignum comes in. Our EM-2 technology means that real-time data can be continuously collected, from inside the overflow itself and/or below the surface of the water where discharges take place. CSignum’s EM-2 is up for an award! In the WWEM (Water, Wastewater & Environmental Monitoring) Awards, for most innovative instrument, product or digital solution. We want more water companies to implement technology like ours – winning an award would give us even more sway. Vote for us – it will only take a moment. https://lnkd.in/ewNTbhQi

💧Diving deep into the Danish water loss control success story at Texas Water Week! This week, our Senior Commercial Advisor for Water, Anne-Louise F. Christensen represented the Water Technology Alliance (WTA) at Texas Water in Fort Worth, TX - the largest regional water conference in the U.S. 🇺🇸 Anne-Louise took to the stage to explain how Denmark has achieved one of the world’s lowest water losses through digitalization, benchmarking, regulations, and groundbreaking innovations. She outlined the drivers and benefits of a resilient and sustainable water sector, highlighting: 👉 Low water loss (average loss of 7%) 👉 Reduction in production and energy costs 👉 Savings on infrastructure repairs 👉 Focus on innovations and state of the art solutions 👉 All plants are partly or completely unmanned Anne-Louise highlighted the utility case story from HOFOR incl. their historic water loss reduction and their participation in the LEAKman project. The public-private development project focused on reducing water losses by combining multiple methods and technologies to detect leaks automatically, displaying output of different data sources in one single platform. This approach is not only leveraging synergies to improve decision making and leakage detection, but also reducing unexpected water supply interruptions, achieving better customer service, and avoiding costly repairs. Thank you to Texas Water for the opportunity to have Anne-Louise F. Christensen share insights on Denmark's water and leak management 🤝 Read more about our work in the Water Technology Alliance here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dDungnhx #DenmarkinUSA #WorkingforDenmark #LEAKmann #TexasWater
