🌈 Supporting Pride Month at Connetics 🌈 As International Pride Month comes to an end, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the strides we’ve made towards a more inclusive environment at Connetics. A special shout out to Josh Dickson for his authentic and heartfelt post. ‘Inclusion’ at Connetics isn’t just a catchphrase; it’s a foundational element of Ara Taumata (Our Ways of Working framework), particularly highlighted by the ‘people matter’ pillar. This reflects our commitment to ensuring every member of the team feels valued and heard. As an ally, I stand firm in my resolve to be part of creating a workplace that is not just a space free from discrimination but one that actively embraces diversity. Inclusion isn’t a policy; it’s a living, breathing practice that we embody through our daily interactions and decisions. I encourage you to take up Josh's challenge to think about when you’ll next confront a ‘normalized’ bias. How will you start that important conversation? Engaging in these conversations might seem daunting, but it’s these moments that can lead to profound changes for many. 🌈 Celebrating Pride Month at Connetics! 🌈 As we approach the end of Pride Month, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on what showing up as LQBTQIA+ looks like at Connetics and share a few thoughts on inclusion in the workplace. Our goal is to make ‘inclusion’ is more than just a buzzword - we want it to be a core concept embedded in our behaviours. Within Ara Taumata (Our Ways of Working Framework), the ‘people matter’ pillar comes to mind - emphasising that every individual in our organisation is valued, respected, and has a unique perspective to offer. Our intention, and my personal aim, is to ensure our workplace is a safe space where everyone can express themselves without fear of discrimination. With this in mind, I believe inclusion isn’t just a policy or a KPI - it’s a daily practice. It’s behaviour and it’s action. As an OD professional, I’m a big believer in training and education opportunities for our people, but I also believe in coupling this with strategies to uplift social capability in everyday interactions. My challenge to you? When will be the next time you’ll be brave and call out something ‘normalised’? How will you open the conversation? How will you show up? Preparing yourself for a powerful conversation to uplift inclusion for yourself or those around you may seem simple but it’s these real-time social-steers than can have the greatest impact for many of us. So, continue to champion your version of inclusion and diversity, not just during Pride Month but every day. Celebrating with rainbow flags and colourful parades is fantastic (and a lot of fun!!), but for me real inclusivity extends far beyond the month of June. At Intuita, we believe that inclusivity should be a constant, integral part of our culture—not just a seasonal gesture. True pride is demonstrated through ongoing actions, policies, and an unwavering commitment to creating an environment where everyone feels equal, valued and respected, every single day. It's about ensuring that our workplace is a safe space for all, celebrating openness, allowing people to be themselves and actively working to eliminate discrimination and bias. Inclusivity at Intuita isn't a one-time celebration; it's a daily practice, a year round endeavour, where we celebrate diversity and foster a sense of belonging every day. It's in the way we recruit, the way we support our teams, and the way we engage with one another.
