It’s time to start saving your Acme receipts again! Donating your receipts to the library makes a substantial impact by helping us distribute books to the community. A collection box is located near the Checkout Desk, or you can drop receipts into our Book Drop. Receipts must be received by February 23, 2025. Here's how it works: The bottom of your Acme receipt lists a Community Cash Back amount. For every receipt you submit, we receive 5% of that total as a donation.

The world is full of needs. Abusing the non-profit status of a university to pay someone to play football there does not rank anywhere in my heirarchy of philanthropy. This "charity's" purpose is found in its FAQs: "Majority of donations to The Varsity Collective Charitable Fund will be spent directly on compensating Badger student-athletes as they create positive impacts on the community and advance charitable and philanthropic causes." I don't understand why this is a tax-deductible activity. If these athletes are professionals, they should be paid a fair wage by their employer. A better use of your charitable donations? Something that changes a system such that people stuck in poverty can move out of poverty.
