As an Executive Director, no two days are the same when serving at GOOD TO BE GOOD. Each day unfolds new challenges and issues, as well as new possibilities and ambitions. 🌟 What many people don’t see is the foundational work (and the everyday humans behind it) necessary to grow our mission and use our values to mobilise action on a day to day basis. But what can a gendered perspective lens reveal about the design of what we intrinsically wish to create? Hey, what up y'all? Is Char here from good to be good? Yes, that's me in my red power suit. Come with me for a day in the life of, sort of. So I usually like to start my day off looking at my calendars. Yes, plural. There's my physical one. Love to write a few musings down on paper. Faith without work is dead, when I'm with my imagination. I'm back in my body, after a little reflection, reading some news and book pages because I believe the work of collective action insists that we foreground the everyday people and their stories. Got to hop on to a call here to meet with the potential partner. We cultivate partnerships encouraging community care and resource distribution confronting oppressive barriers new partner in a capitalist framework is perfect. Of course, they're also part of maintaining the status quo. So why are prioritized keeping abreast with local movements and cultural convos in our community back to work. We finalized our evaluation report for change maker one of our core programs at good to be good. It's out now and we hope you find it inspiring shadow to JKG community for their collaboration. Moving on over to our empowering care program moving applications next our fiscal year and. Also known as a tax year, year end. Got it. Some documents to sign here. Financial health is important for our financial capacity, involving the resources available to attain the mission, adapt, sustain, and innovate. Next, I'm doing some research. This helps us understand the needs and perspectives of the communities that we serve. It's very important. Next, we're applying here for our grant. Like many small nonprofits, we often face funding challenges that aren't visible to others. When we do receive a US, we focus on addressing the situation promptly and meeting needs as they arise. Speaking of supporters, a little beverage break here. With one of our partners, Barbet. Still can't believe we're featured on their packaging. And some lunch, of course. My favorite view books. Now it's time to assemble care packages from our inventory for community members in our programs, ensuring each one is personalized to meet women's specific and unique needs. Here we got baby supplies, Lucky Iron Fish Wellness products, and Good to Begin postcards so folks know that we're here to serve and advocate for them. Subsequently, I have a team meeting to attend, so I'll make myself a quick snack before heading out. Anyone else carry their whole life in their bag? Women carry and do so much, huh? We made it. Hey Lindsay Hey Mecca. I'm so proud and fortunate to work with such incredible and dedicated people. Since my work days are usually long and sometimes complex, I need to lean into my life by spending quality time with loved ones, my godchildren, and engaging or participating in my community. Rest as a form of resistance y'all, Because it disrupts the status quo and brings us closer to justice and are longing to be liberated together. That's it for today my friends. A few things. We're pushing for a good to be good solutions to gender based violence, equal pay rights and opportunity, investing in women for equity and low barrier access to intersectional social programs.
