One of the hardest things to develop inside of any company is team chemistry. It’s one thing to have your team focused in the same direction; it is quite another thing when they actually enjoy what they are doing. There are many ways to create this atmosphere. Organizing a team-building exercise that supports a local charity helps build morale and team cohesiveness. We have an idea... #Goodwill #DCGoodwill #Nonprofit #Local #TeamBuilding #WorkCulture #Donation #DonationDrive #GivingBack #Community #TeamSpirit #TeamBonding

Bay Area folks - if you have anything to do with nonprofits - board members, employees, community partners, volunteers, donors, funders, and philanthropists - you NEED to be at this event. Why? Nonprofits: Are you tired of trying to do good with less resources? Is it frustrating to explain why you desperately need funding to pay for administrative costs to keep your programs running? How about recruitment challenges because you have to justify paying a fair and competitive wage for your nonprofit employees? Funders/Donors: Do you want to make a real impact in your community? Do you listen to what nonprofits really need to make that happen with your dollars? Do you only support programming with no allowances for salary, rent, insurance, and other necessary costs for nonprofits to continue to do critical work to make your community a better place to live and work? Do you want to make smart social investments? It's past time for real change in how we view charity. Attend - watch - and let's work together to shift mindsets so real impact can be realized. Buy your tickets today. Early bird prices through April 26! https://lnkd.in/g3EBb8dt

Empowering Designers 🚀 Last week Sam Gale and I had the incredible opportunity to attend an event designed specifically for out-of-work designers. Organised by Ty-John Roberts it allowed designers who were out of work to come together and offer their skills on a charity basis helping out a company who needed it. This gathering was more than just a networking opportunity for them, which is what most events tend to be. Instead it allowed designers a space where creativity, collaboration, and community is at the heat of it. 🎨 What made this event special? - Collaboration: Talented designers, sharing ideas and working together to create impactful design solutions. - Community: It provided a much-needed break from isolation, allowing them to connect, share experiences, and support one another. - Giving Back: Through their collective efforts, they were able to contribute to charitable causes, making a real difference with their skills. It was great to see everyone come together with a shared purpose and as a recruiter its very rare we actually get to see design work being done it front of us so was super insightful for us as well. Its an amazing way to help out of work designers at the moment and defintiely think more events/collaboration like this should be done in the futrure ✌️! #DesignCommunity #Collaboration #Charity #Networking #Creativity #DesignForGood

While most nonprofit organizations have an ongoing need for more contributed revenue, the numbers don’t lie – donations are decreasing industry-wide. The constant push to raise more money in a landscape where it’s increasingly difficult is causing undue stress and burnout for development staff. In fact, the average tenure for a fundraiser is now only 16 months, according to Market Smart. This is alarming, because studies indicate it can take up to three years for a donor to build significant trust with their organizational liaison, who is, generally speaking, a development staff member. Could this be a contributing factor to why donors are leaving nonprofits? Amy Eisenstein, ACFRE offers great suggestions on how to deal with stress in “The Zen Approach to Modern Fundraising: 11 Paths to Serenity” on her website. I encourage development staff, executive directors and even board members to read this and reflect on how your expectations, past experiences and professional practice may be contributing to your organization’s fundraising challenges. Manage your expectations for growth, invest in professional development and mentorship, and prioritize mental health. It does nobody any good to have constant turnover – especially the people you serve. This year, commit to building a culture of philanthropy rather than a race to more transactions. #nonprofitdevelopment #fundraising https://lnkd.in/g6CHB39Q

As a #SmallBusinessOwner, there's no limit to finding ways for building your company. There's one solution that can makes a BIG impact by... 🌟 Connecting employees to the company values 📰 Spotlighting the business brand/culture in your community 🤝 Making new connections (outside of networking events!) 🚀 Boosting strategic effectiveness THE SOLUTION: Align with a local Non-Profit! Like you, there are many local NP's that are doing great things. Here's two simpler ways to get you started... OPTION 1: Maximize The Team Engagement 📆 Not everything has to be about volunteering. Many organizations throw fun events as fundraisers like chili cookoffs, art exhibits, galas, or bingo/trivia nights. It's a great opportunity to extend the impact having staff invite their friends or family to join. 🔎 Use these to explore the organizations in your area, meet their staff, and find one that aligns best with your people. OPTION 2: Maximize Accessibility Not every team can commit to a weekend event, an evening out, or day trip. Bring the impact to the office by fundraising or hosting a drive. 👀 Have the organization to come out to tell the team about who they are and what they do. Put up trackers in the office, online, or a weekly email cheering on the team. 📣 Celebrate events publicly. Take team pics with the donations, sharing on your website/social media, tag the organization and their leader, and communicate the business's "why" to everyone. 🎙 Ask others that connect with the cause to help support too! NP's love this kind of exposure to expand their message to new spaces. This has helped many businesses not only accomplish all that's mentioned at the start of this post, it's also helped breathe life into their #Culture (including mine!). Here's a pic of my business with the 24 Foundation's Development Director Audrey Hood. A hot sweaty mess after their weekly 🚲 training ride. We're participating in their 24 Hours of Booty cycling event July 26th-27th to support those going through their cancer journey. Leave a comment if there's a cause your business supports and let other leaders hear about them! #GivingIsLiving #EmployeeEngagement #SupportLocal #NonProfit #SmallBusinessOwner

Founder & CEO | PPC & SEO Agency - Search Marketing for Social Good | 7% (of profits) Charity Pledge 💜
We kick off the new #CSR7 series this week, focusing on: Tip 1 - How to engage your team Why is it important? As a business or business owner, it’s important to create a shared purpose amongst your team. This creates synergy and motivation, with the team truly feeling like they are playing a key role in making big decisions and helping to shape the company . What do we do at Search Seven? At search seven, each and every year, everyone in the team chooses a charity close to their hearts that we support and fundraise for. We do £150 match fundraising for the teams own events, plus we share the money out from all our S7 community events between ALL the charities - so far raising over £125,000 for 50 charities. We have a CSR committee and everyone gets involved in planning and hosting our events, making it a real team effort. What can you do? 💜 Ask your team what events they would like to organise for charity? 💜 Ask your team what charities they would like to support? 💜 Ask your team how else you can make a difference? Useful Resources? Below are two great books all about building a fantastic people culture by fully engaging the team. 📕 Maverick - by Ricardo Semler 📕 Super Engaged - the Propellernet - B Corp story, by Nikki Gatenby I hear there is a story in Super Engaged about a former employee that went on to build an agency all about giving back 7% to charity too 😜💜 The CSR-7 campaign is here to give some top tips about how you can build a strong CSR ethos in your business, sharing useful tips and resources. Embracing monthly giving programs isn’t just about smoothing out financial forecasts; it’s about fundamentally enhancing the work life of nonprofit staff. By cutting down on time-consuming tasks, reducing administrative burdens, lowering workplace stress, and minimizing the need for costly events, these programs allow staff to focus on what they do best—serving the community. It’s clear that fostering such initiatives supports the financial health of nonprofits and the well-being and effectiveness of the people within them. Let’s champion these programs, not just for the funds, but for the people behind the scenes who make it all happen. #donations #monthly #nonprofit #donation #fundraising #charity #nonprofitorganization #nonprofits #notforprofit #support #socialgood #monthlygiving #recurring #subscriptiongiving #recurringgiving #monthlydonor #donorlove
