The NSC Labor Division would like to thank IBEW Boston Local 103 Brother and co-owner of McDonald Electric Corporation Tom Cooney. His steadfast caring and generosity helps make the impossible - possible. #103sobrietygroup #ntmf #ibew #neca #boston #recovery #nsc #labordivision #NSCDivisions #Healthandsafety #mentalhealth #workplacementalhealth #mentallyhealthyworkplace #psychologicalhealthandsafety #psychosocialriskmanagement #endthestigma
A huge thank you to Tom for a very generous donation to the Sobriety group! The money we raise goes to things like sober housing, clothing, and toiletries. One of the best parts of this is, once they get back on their feet, they pay the Sobriety group back. It gives them a sense of pride to know that they are given back, and being a part of what helped them. #103sobrietygroup👊

Words like these from a trusted source like Jim Fredricks mean so much to us as an organization. This has been a year of great effort and great fruit, and we couldn’t do any of it without you and your support. Would you consider an end-of-year donation to keep the great work of Compassion United going? We are excited to see what 2024 will bring! I have to share this post for two reasons. One is that I am a proud trustee for Humanimal Trust and really believe in One Medicine for humans and animals (watch the video - Noel explains it better). The second is that I know how many will appreciate how ridiculously cute Noel’s cat, Richochet, is! #onemedicine #humanimaltrust
Happy 10th Birthday Humanimal Trust!! Today, 6th May, we are celebrating our 10th birthday, the day our charity was founded by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick back in 2014. This day is now known as One Medicine Day. We want to thank each and every one of you for your support and dedication for the charity. You are all amazing! Without you we simply would not be here. Thank you from everyone here at Humanimal Trust.

Whilst the type of care required from an unpaid carer differs from one unpaid carer to another, every unpaid carer has the same common difficulties to cope with. Loneliness, tiredness and worry that they're not doing a good enough job. Why? Because often they've had no prior experience of caring. They've had no training on how to care for someone. By picking up additional caring responsibilities for another person they become 'Time poor'. Quite often there are simply not enough hours in the day. This Christmas please consider gifting an unpaid carer with a gift of time by paying for a respite break hour for them. A £20 donation with gift aid will allow an unpaid carer to have 1 hour to themselves. Caring for someone else is the greatest sacrifice one person can give to another. They deserve it 🙏
You can give unpaid carers in Surrey the gift of time with just a simple click 🎁⏳ By supporting our Christmas Appeal, your donation will enable Crossroads Care Surrey to give local carers a regular break from the stress and exhaustion of caring for a loved one 24/7 🫶 Thank you so much for anything you can donate; you are making a huge difference to people who give so much themselves 💙 Happy Christmas! 🎄 Make a donation today: https://ow.ly/iBOj50QkzFz

Working on a hard problem in biomedical sciences? => Further develop your scientific hypothesis on seechat.ai
Dilemma: you are a charitable person who enjoys giving but you’re also aware that many non-profit organizations have a public mission (eg, AI for the “common good”) and a secret mission (eg, to reduce the tax obligation of the parent company). Questions: - Which non-profits do you work for? - Which ones do you donate to? Solution: Ask Charity Navigator. Example usage: A charitable friend recently got an offer from Allen Institute for AI (AI2), which is owned and governed by Vulcan LLC, the company that runs the assets of the late Paul G. Allen. He went to Charity Navigator and pulled up the Allen Institute’s record, before calling me to ask for my opinion of AI2 (as a former employee). It was a long call in which I articulated a long list of strengths and weaknesses.

Are you reaching out to local businesses and entrepreneurs to top up your teams knowledge & skill base? Charities need to be more resourceful and make the most of the invaluable support that is out there. Home-Start Herts have found doing this invaluable - see below.
Thank you Martin Purvis for another fabulous and constructive coaching session for the Home-Start Hertfordshire leadership team. It has been 2 years now since Martin offered to support HSH. His guidance and advice over the years has been so valuable, and provides an opportunity for us to step back and work ‘on the business’ to strengthen and grow the organisation What we really appreciate is that whatever we bring to the sessions, he is always able to adapt and refocus the session to meet our needs. Thank you Martin for your ongoing support and also for supporting and donating to our urgent Appeal campaign helping us to be there for families. DONATE HERE: https://lnkd.in/ef4vtvis

What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time. Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this. Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership
TLDR: I've been working on something pretty cool! "The Maple Street Mantra: Help People, Serve Others, Be A Part Of The Community" is why I joined the team. I'm grateful to Maple Street Biscuit Company for allowing me to take on something so near and dear to who we are. *Maple Street Silly Socks* a portion of sock sales will go directly to LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services and U.F. Health, supporting their incredible work to maximize the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. This is particularly meaningful because giving back has always been a big part of who I am. From working with the Miami Children's Initiative during my time at the University of Florida to my work with the Harrison County Community Foundation, I've seen firsthand the impact we can make when we come together. Your support means the world and will help create positive change in our community. P.S. The socks are pretty cool as well https://lnkd.in/gKJnfwB6
