Great news! 🚀 🚀 🚀 I’m excited to share that we’ve just closed our €15 million Series A funding round, led by Partech and with continued support from Alante Capital, Alstin Capital, Samaipata, and F-LOG Ventures. This isn’t just a big win for us—it's a huge step forward for making sustainability in fashion more accessible and manageable. 💚 With this funding, we’ll be doubling down on building solutions that help brands and suppliers not just meet but exceed their sustainability goals. Here’s what we’re focusing on: - Using AI and automation to make supply chain sustainability even more efficient. - Developing the best Digital Product Passport (#DPP) to empower consumers to make well-educated decisions. - Growing our impact—helping more brands and suppliers work together seamlessly to drive change. More than 15,000 suppliers and 150 brands, including some of the biggest names in fashion, are already working with us on their journey to make sustainability the new normal. This investment will help us take things to the next level. 🚫 "We're not a sustainable brand" 🚫 This is one of the things I admire most about the Ganni A/S brand. Despite being one of the leading brands in the sustainable fashion space, they don't claim to be sustainable. Instead, they strive to be the most responsible version of themselves, taking steps to reduce their social and environmental impact every day. Last Thursday, I attended Lauren Bartley's insightful talk at Fashion District - London in which she shared how Ganni is working to achieve a 50% reduction in carbon emissions by 2027. Ganni's strategic use of up and coming technologies like those at Modern Synthesis is key in achieving these ambitious goals. For me, it's clear that partnerships with impact-driven startups is the best way for brands to make crucial change happen quickly and at scale. 🤝 #fashiontech #responsiblefashion #impactstartups

Pleased to share my latest for Florida Trend Media Company! Soarce, an innovative Orlando startup, started out making fabrics from seaweed and along the way formulated a product that solves a large problem for fashion brands. "We take these novel sources of nature like algae and seaweed, and we turn them into sustainable, low-impact but very high-performing chemistries to help fashion brands meet their sustainability goals without making their products degrade in quality. We make their products better, we make them last longer, and we make them resist fading over time," says Mason Mincey, COO and co-founder of Soarce. SHEIN announced a commitment to invest €250 million over the next five years, focusing on enhancing circularity efforts and supporting the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. The flagship initiative, the Circularity Fund, will receive €200 million to support startups and businesses in textile-to-textile recycled materials and innovative solutions, with SHEIN inviting co-investments from global entities. There are -also on this platform- far more people TALKING about what should be done about problems in the fashion industry, than people BUYING from circular pioneers. Apparently it's difficult to compete with the global companies who continue with business models that add to pollution, social inequalities and massive waste. Therefore it is no less than totally awesome that young people like Eugénie Haitsma Mulier, Douwe de Boer and Diek Pothoven pour in their incredible talent and effort into building the circular business models that will define the future of of fashion.
