Hotly Contested, and Somehow It’s Never Right... Not sure about your office, but there are two things you just can’t please people on. No, it’s not focus spaces, collab areas, or hot desking—because if you engage with your team, you can usually get those right. But music and temperature? Forget about it! After a couple of days of Radio Hauraki in the office, I’m headbanging one minute, singing the next, and then—bam! change of station— and we’re off to a dark nightclub on K Road at 11am. Perfect timing and vibe as I head into Teams meeting, right? And let’s not even get started on the temperature. The thermostat says 21 degrees, but half the team has lap blankets and sweatshirts, while the rest of us are in tees. Have I missed anything? Anyone got a magic bullet for solving the human mystery that is music preferences and temperature control?
