BWT Group Alpine F1 Team heads to Imola for Round 7 of the 2024 FIA Formula 1 World Championship, the F1 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Good luck to Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, fingers crossed for more points. The first point of the season in Miami shows that we are making progress after a very difficult start to our campaign. In the last two races we have demonstrated a slight rise in competitiveness and ability to race in more encouraging positions on track. Even if part of that is due to some track specifics, we have been able to unlock some performance courtesy of our upgrades. We will not be bringing any significant ones over the next few races, but we keep pushing hard at the factories to improve the car and extract more performance. This weekend is our first European race of the season and a return to a conventional track. Imola is synonymous with Formula 1, it’s really a legendary circuit. It’s very fast, tight, challenging and it’s great to still race at these iconic tracks. It’s back to a normal race weekend without a Sprint, so we will aim to have a constructive Friday and set ourselves up well for the remainder of the weekend when it counts. Other than Canada, this is the beginning of an intense period on the calendar racing through Europe right until the summer break. All set for the debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship 2024 with 26 drivers. After the #F1 tests in Bahrain, Stilo is about to face a double commitment with the first round of the FIA WEC at Lusail and the second of the FIA W2RC in Abu Dhabi. In #Qatar 26 Stilo drivers will be on the grid, 10 in the Hypercar class and 16 in the new LMGT3, confirming that the Italian brand is one of the most represented on the starting grid. The most used models for this discipline, which is one of the most fascinating and popular at the moment, are the ST5 GT, GTN, and FN. Simultaneously with the WEC, Stilo will also be present at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the second round of the FIA W2RC taking place in the deserts of the United Arab Emirates. This morning, unfortunately, we had a water leak on my car, which ended my session early while the team fixed the issue. In Free Practice 2 this afternoon, we were able to run to our programme and get some much-needed laps in. Our low fuel runs looked encouraging but it looks like our long runs need some work, especially on tyre management. We managed to gain plenty of information across both cars today and now it will be important to run through that see what works and what does not and make the necessary changes ahead of tomorrow.” Pierre Gasly: “It is always mixed emotions coming back to race at Spa-Francorchamps. It’s a truly unique circuit. I love driving a Formula 1 car here as is the case in Free Practice today and it is right up there amongst my favourite circuits. We have some upgrades this weekend so it’s important for us to get them running and help us understand more about the performance. Free Practice 1 was good but we had a couple of small problems in Free Practice 2, which probably masked our performance.
