For some, the beauty of Formula 1 is all about motorsport. For others, it’s all about technology, the incredible innovation behind the world’s most technology-driven sport. But the reality is that you can’t separate the two. Formula 1 is at once about sport, technology and innovation. Formula 1 is a massive research and development powerhouse. Technologies developed within the closed walls of F1 team factories find their way into other industries, making our lives simpler, safer and more efficient. F1 boasts technology that's innovative, ground-breaking – and life-saving. F1 cars already use the world's most efficient engine, while the sport's engineers and pit crews are locked in an all-out battle to beat the stopwatch... and their rivals!
Andreas Nikolaus "Niki" Lauda (February 22 1949 – May 20 2019) was an Austrian racing driver and aviation entrepreneur. Niki Lauda won three World Championships and is widely regarded as one of the greatest drivers in the history of Formula 1. Formula 1 has a fan base of 500 million fans.

Today marks the day, 30 years ago, that Ayrton Senna was tragically killed. Three decades after his death at Imola, the great Brazilian driver remains a revered but controversial figure in motorsport. From this list, here’s my fave race featuring him … 4. The Ayrton Senna legend is born: Monaco Grand Prix 1984 … “It will be really a tragic result for Senna. However, while he’s not about to be world champion this year, he will undoubtedly be world champion in the future if his career continues.” Thus spoke BBC commentator and 1976 world champion James Hunt, having witnessed one of the great wet weather performances of all time. Senna, behind the wheel of a decidedly mid-to-back-of-the-field Toleman, had made his way to second place by Lap 19 of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix, as drivers of the calibre of Niki Lauda and Nigel Mansell were spinning off all around him. UNDERDOG TALES: When Senna took the F1 paddock by storm with Toleman and made Monaco’s streets his own Between Lap 27 and Lap 31 – the last lap before race official Jacky Ickx (ironically a notorious regenmeister himself) controversially threw the red flag to stop proceedings – Senna had gained on race leader Alain Prost by an average of 3.7 seconds a lap, passing him for the lead across what became the finish line on Lap 32 but falling back to second in the final countback. Was he robbed? It’s a question that can still excite F1 fans down the pub today. Whatever your opinion, though, there was no doubt that Senna’s drive that day had been one of the most special in F1 history. If anyone asked me which Formula 1 racing event is my favorite, I would vote of the Monaco GP. Monaco GP is quite special for fans. Compared to other races, it carries Industrial, market, cultural and historical significance. The Monte Carlo track has seen some of the biggest wins in history. Graham Hill won five times here which was topped by Aryton Senna, who won six GPs in Monaco! Our favorite Scuderia Ferrari driver, Charles Leclerc recently won his home race. The other driver who won in Monaco apart from Charles is Louis Chiron in 1931. This race is one of a kind also because drivers find it difficult to overtake each other. It's almost impossible. So the pole sitter from the qualifying has a good chance of winning the race! Monaco GP is also one of the most star studded race after Miami, Las Vegas and Austin! Both F1 and the local economy share profits, especially from Monaco's tourism industry. But F1 is planning on removing the race from the calendar. Some drivers are welcoming this decision too! If you want to know why Monaco GP shouldn't be scrapped from the F1 calendar, read this article! I have attached the link to the article in the comments section. Hopefully my word reaches the F1 CEO! #F1 #Formula1 #FormulaOne #Ferrari #MonacoGP #MiamiGP #LasVegasGP #AustinGP

It's lights out and away we go! If you're a motorsport fan like me, then anticipation is building up for the 2024 F1 season. Will Verstappen get a 4th title in a row? Can #LasVegas get it right this year - both in and out of the track? With the season starting in Bahrain 2 weeks from now, this chart is a timely review of STR/CoStar Group hotel performance during past race weekends. - With 24 races, 2024 boasts the biggest #F1 calendar ever. - For consistency, the chart displays data for the closest market to the event. Depending on location characteristics, demand can overflow to nearby markets. - Occupancies were strong in 2023 and overall above 80% with some slight weakness mainly for races in North and South America. - ADR levels are destination/market dependent but as expected F1 races cause a noticeable uplift over normal trading conditions - in most cases. More details in the following article by my esteemed colleague Nathan Rael https://lnkd.in/e-ee8Y_y

Monaco remains the crown jewel. The atmosphere is unmatched for good reason. History and legacy play a role. So many great champions have demonstrated nerves and skill here. You can't help but feel it. The Automobile Club de Monaco have also done an excellent job at improving and modernizing their facilities. It's always going to be cramped, but that's part of the exclusive charm. The new FOM camera angles are excellent. Still a bit strange to see all the standard F1 sponsors in place of #Monaco's quirky mix of local and global brands. I do think it's time they paid more than they have, though just like Ferrari, having Monaco on the calendar is the same as an appearance fee in any other major tournament. Could they improve the race and the circuit? Sure. The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) could require the teams to use only the two softest compounds over the weekend. No point in making it a strategy race if you don't create a real and exciting opportunity to pass. Move the DRS zone. The current DRS zone is mostly useless. Make the tunnel a DRS zone and change the Nouvelle Chicane to a left-right jog and you'd have an excellent spot for overtakes without slamming on the brakes as is now the case. These two adjustments would greatly heighten the tension and provide some real excitement without requiring the Principality to spend big money on changes to the "track". One last thing: bring back the 4 day event. Monaco is an excellent opportunity to capitalize on marketing opportunities. The teams have many more sponsors who need to engage and activate fans at the circuit and online. The extra day always provides everyone involved an extra day to create and maximize the value of such an extraordinary place. Long may she reign! #F1 #FIA #MonacoGP #MonacoCircuit
