Graham-Field is seeking a team member in Hazelwood, MO! You will play a crucial role in processing incoming containers, picking products accurately according to dispatch orders, verifying shipping information, examining product quality, and packaging and labeling products. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, and be capable of reaching, bending, and lifting. You should be willing to load and unload containers in various weather conditions, and having forklift certification and warehouse equipment experience is a plus. It's an operations week and a treasure hunt for my team! 1. Hired our new Operations Director (OD) 2. OD is creating Inspector versions of our Standard Property Appearance (SPA) guides that include: - Locations and sizes of all HVAC filters (spoiler: some are not in HVAC units but hidden in ceilings) - Types of light bulbs per house - Types of salt for water softeners 3. Begin to put our new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for consumables into place: - Guest consumable supplies for each turn to be assembled in turn bags with the amount needed per stay - Season begins with 4 turn bags in each property's supply closet - Inspector brings 2 fresh turn bags from the office every other week to each house when she does her bi-monthly inspection - If the Cleaners see the supply closet down to 1 turn bag, they let us know, otherwise they should always have the guest consumable supplies needed for each turn, auto replenished by the Inspector 4. Add to the Inspector's bi-monthly inspection - Check grease traps on grills and griddles - Check felt pads on chairs and tables We're headed into our shoulder season now through the end of the year. The idea is to get a good cadence and any snafus worked out before next May when high season hits again.

In our investor deck we said we would hire our first full time team member in April. We didn't. We thought about it a lot. We are aware of how important building a quality team is to achieve proper growth which is probably the main reason we decided not to hire. How can we help someone to fulfil their potential in a role when we are still learning about it ourselves? We are fortunate to have found ourselves with an awesome team, just none of them are directly employed by us. They are experts in their areas and we really trust them. Sidney Hiscox and I are now in a strange spot where we spend some hours of the day on the big picture strategy of Fera , the creative direction, operational planning etc and then probably as many or more hours answering customer service emails, chasing up fulfilment issues, creating barcodes for incoming products etc. Both of these are super important and you can't have one without the other. And in fact, being an expert in those seemingly 'smaller' operational tasks is really important, we are still working on it. That first hire is coming but only when we are as confident as we can be of their role and what it entails and most importantly our ability to equip them with the info/knowledge required to smash it.
