As a #CarbonDioxideRemoval (CDR) technology provider, one of the first questions we are often asked is: what does it cost? Given its importance to policy and investment, understanding the potential cost of CDR technologies is critical for the growth and success of the industry. Today, we are pleased to share our new white paper detailing Captura’s innovations and cost reductions in #DirectOceanCapture (DOC). Noting that many are working to advance knowledge of CDR costs, our paper contributes to efforts to understand the cost of DOC by sharing new insight into Captura’s process. The paper explores our technology roadmap and proprietary innovations that will move our technology down the cost curve, including advancements in electrodialysis, gas extraction, and energy use. Through a comparison with prior academic studies, it offers a fresh perspective on the potential cost of DOC that is significantly lower than previous estimates and highly competitive with other high-integrity CDR technologies.
