Today for Deaf Awareness Month, the Great Lakes ADA Center is highlighting Telecommunication Relay Services (TRS). These services allow individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to communicate by phone with hearing individuals. TRS includes several services such as Video Relay Service (VRS), Internet Protocol Relay (IP Relay), and Captioned Telephone Service. These are vital tools for effective communication and equal access. Organizations, both public and private, must make proactive use of the many advances in technology to help eliminate the barriers to service access for individuals with disabilities. Communication is an essential part of human interaction, let's do all we can to facilitate it for everyone ☎ 👍
