This topic of #LandGovernance, #ClimateFinance and #PhysicalPlanning not only in #Africa but globally is so important. #ClimateJustice is another key consideration when engaging in #CarbonCapture projects. Does #REDD+, #Verra, #GoldStandard, etc. and do the stakeholders implementing these projects do enough to ensure the highest impact?

#Australia is 3 years into both the Decade of #Biosecurity and the Decade of #EcologicalRestoration. These two important programs and aims are - or should be - connected. For example, weeds and plant diseases are significant and costly threats to ecological #restoration. At the State level in #Tasmania, I have heard almost nothing about either program, nor any progress reports. Anyone? What’s happening in other States??

It's a timely issue which supports current policy reforms to allow more urban infill development.

Of course, the photo of me from the recent AusIMM #CriticalMinerals Conference in Brisbane has me holding a glass of wine 🍷😐. That said, over the last couple of weeks I have reflected on the conference, what I heard, and the conversations I had with new and old colleagues and friends. A couple of things: 1) There is nervousness across the industry about policy stability and decision-making and the impact on investment flowing here under current settings. 2) Over the last 3 or so years the actions the industry wants to take have accelerated and regulation is simply not keeping pace with the resource sector now, let alone the future. 3) Purposeful and innovative partnerships and collaboration will be critical if we want the sector to continue to thrive and weather the markets, as well as change broadly. The 11th r3.0 International (online) Conference 'Tipping Points on Tipping Points - Building Necessary Collapse Resilience' on September 10/11 has four main themes, each with extraordinary speakers.
