Last week we gathered at Hall des Lumières to honor our Board Chair Cynthia Edelson and Corporate Champion FOODMatch + Divina at The Art of Cooking Benefit Gala. Teen Culinary Apprentices from the Work-Based Learning program served up delicious and healthy bites during cocktail hour using ingredients provided by FOODMatch + Divina! The students prepared artichoke flatbread, summer rolls with Thai sunflower satay sauce, and pimento cheese with crostini for guests to enjoy. Founder of The Sylvia Center Liz Neumark shared her story of starting the nonprofit, and Dana Dessources, 2023 Divina Future Community Leader award recipient, spoke on her experience being a teen culinary apprentice. Our Executive Director Barbara Glassman welcomed our guests. A live auction followed, hosted by Chef Ayesha Nurdjaja, Executive Chef/Partner at Shuka & Shukette. A rousing success, $690,000 was raised in support of our plant-powered culinary programs! We extend the biggest thank you to our honorees, supporters, and to everyone who joined us in celebration!
