With election day just weeks away, we still have not seen substantial investment in one key, influential voting block—Gen Z cis and trans girls, young women, and gender-expansive young people of color. In response, we’ve launched the Rapid Response Fund as phase two of the Fixing Democracy Initiative, getting funds and resources to young people from young people to mobilize Gen Z voters and others. Our goal is to mobilize in our real life communities by bringing people together and encouraging folks to vote in 2024 and beyond, and to think about what role we can play over the long term to ensure our freedom, justice, and safety. Visit our website to learn more and apply to the Rapid Response Fund today! https://lnkd.in/g5UYtyTY #FixingDemocracy #Vote2024 #ElectionReady #MakeYourVoiceHeard #YourVoteCounts #CivicEngagement #DemocracyInAction #RegisterToVote #VotingMatters #EmpowerYourself #EveryVoteCounts #Participate #GetOutTheVote #BeHeard #StandUpAndVote #VoteForChange #RegistrationDeadline #VoterRegistration #justiceandjoy #RapidResponseFund

According to McKinsey, women are set to inherit $11 trillion by 2030. Yet, many young women still feel unprepared to manage this wealth. How can we change that equation for the next generation of girls and women 👧🏻? - Involve daughters early in financial discussions to give them confidence and knowledge. - Empower them with individual responsibility, like choosing a donation or investment opportunity that means something to them. - Work with other females as mentors and educators, which can make them feel more connected to the topic. It’s important to start early with financial education and literacy, as the girls of today will become the power investors of tomorrow. Keynote Speaker | Storyteller Extraordinaire | Social Justice Warrior | Community Connector | Creator, Ascending Leaders in Color | Asset-Based Language Auditor | Hornet Nest Stirrer
Many of you asked for it! So I'm delivering it! ❤️ Click on the link below to access your free Guide in Creating a Community-Centered Pitch! This guide, created by 4 Da Hood, was distributed to Social Venture Partners Tucson's 2024 Fast Pitch finalists in January before they began crafting their pitches. On March 26, 2024 at The Fox Theatre, the finalists representing BorderLinks, Inc., The Haven, Casa de los Niños, Parent Aid Child Abuse Prevention Center, TMM Family Services, Interfaith Community Services, Tucson, Children's Clinics, and Special Needs Solutions, pitched their pitches! To say the guide made a difference would be an understatement! ❤️ Each pitch used asset-based language. Each pitch focused on mission/vision even when highlighting a program in many cases. And each pitch ditched the levels of ask, which often come off sounding transactional, and instead made transformative donor asks! These subtle changes made a monumental difference, and made each pitch a community-centered pitch! 🎊 The pitches were uplifting to the folks highlighted in the stories, such as Carolina, Olivia and Jorge Hernandez. The pitches were uplifting to the finalists, I'm convinced because they honored the individuals, families, and communities they spoke about. And the pitches were uplifting to the 1,200 peeps in the audience for, I believe, one of two reasons! Some recognized the shift immediately because I am certain they may have personally been described in deficit-framed ways at some point in their lives. And the others who noticed something different but couldn't put their finger on it, now they know! Communities were honored and uplifted! 🙌🏼 And if you didn't attend, I strongly encourage you to watch the recording! I've tagged SVP Tucson above so you can find your way to it! And if you’re ever looking for a keynote speaker to talk on this subject or on building racial and gender equity in our sector, reach out to me at frank@4dahood.com. Would love to talk! ❤️❤️ #MovingRacialEquityForward #AssetBasedLanguage

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: https://lnkd.in/eDVCahWD 100 Women Strong (100WS) Invests in New Pilot Program Aimed at the Fiscal Benefits Cliff 100WS, a strategic all-female giving circle at Central Florida Foundation, awarded $70,000 to a new Career Development pilot program with local nonprofit, Women on the Rise International, Inc. (WOTR). This is part of the giving circle’s continued focus on identifying innovative approaches to solving local issues affecting women. “Career advancement can paradoxically lead families to lose public assistance due to exceeding income thresholds, resulting in either a financial loss, called the fiscal benefits cliff, or no financial gain, called a fiscal benefits plateau, despite higher wages,” explained 💥Patricia Burlaud, Ph.D., 100WS Research and Grants Chair. Consider this: Women of color are the most founded entrepreneurial demographic yet are the least funded. Given this disparity, one might wonder why the Fearless Fund program's proactive efforts in supporting women-founded businesses serving the BIPOC communities were discriminatory. Black women are leading the way in entrepreneurship, with 17% of Black women starting or running new businesses, compared to 15% of white men, according to https://lnkd.in/ewgW96rs. The significant growth in entrepreneurship is evident, with African American women-owned businesses growing by 258%, Latina women-owned businesses by 180%, and Asian American women-owned businesses by 156%. This trend is further highlighted by https://lnkd.in/ei_eiwGt. However, despite these impressive numbers, women of color still face substantial challenges, particularly in accessing capital and sustaining their businesses. Considering the marginalization of underserved communities and women of color getting equitable funding, why are women of color still facing substantial challenges accessing capital and sustaining their businesses? This question prompts the need for more significant support and equality in entrepreneurship for women of color. Watch more insights shared by Fearless Fund CEO on the challenges women of color face in fundraising in this video. Although I recommend doing your research, here are three links to women of color grant programs: https://lnkd.in/eFyj3j7Z, https://lnkd.in/e3qshWUS, and https://lnkd.in/ey84zfJk If you know of any leads or resources, please add more to inspire and help other women in need. #Inspire #BeAnInspiration #VentureCapital #FundingWomensEntrepreneurship #itistimetoinnovate

Somewhat “combative pacifist and cooperative anarchist.” I fight extremism by engaging the private sector.
🔊This is such an important point -- and to the extent that outside actors (ahem, anti-democratic regimes in select countries) see opportunities to fan the flames of division through fragmented media -- manufacturing blowback and retaliation to the point where it's the perceived threat that does all the work. 🌬️I wonder if a significant amount of the blowback in ESG and DEI and (fill in blank issue) has gotten a lift from bad actors and now is just part of the narrative so much so that people don't consider the source(s) of the blowback. 🌈Pink/Green/[insert color here] washing is real and at the same time, those advising and influencing companies should probe a bit further into data like this that disputes the divisiveness of many issues in the U.S. before they tell companies to back off, retrench, stay out of it, etc.
"If nonprofits deploy a persuasion strategy as they go about bridge building, the work can backfire and reinforce the idea that America is hopelessly divided." This is why our Dialogue to Change approach is so important--we must be thoughtful, intentional, and evidence-backed in the critical work of #transformingpolarization https://lnkd.in/eSZdxBpn

☑️ Strengthening the capacities of grassroots organizations To increase our impact, we support local organizations and social entrepreneurs that contribute to community development. Through Women’s Funds, we finance and strengthen the capacity of feminist organizations and women leaders who work closely with local communities to build a more equitable society. In Mexico, gender-based and sexual violence – including rape, intimidation, sexual abuse of minors, and femicide – are systemic issues. On average, 11 women and girls are murdered every day. As the only Women’s Fund in Mexico, our partner Fondo Semillas works with 155 organizations across 32 states, providing funding and strengthening their organizational capacity. Through our latest impact report, we share the achievements we have made with our partners over the past 15 years, through 15 key impacts. Check out the full report here: https://lnkd.in/eJJp-J3s
