Some highlights of the history of the Netherlands are: - The region was part of the Roman Empire from the first century BCE to the fifth century CE, and was inhabited by various Germanic tribes, such as the Batavians and the Frisians . - The region was divided into several medieval lordships, such as Brabant, Holland, Zeeland, Friesland and Guelders, until it was unified under the Burgundian Netherlands in 1433. - The northern part of the Netherlands declared its independence from Spain in 1581, after a long and bloody revolt against Catholic oppression, and became the Dutch Republic or the United Provinces. - The Dutch Republic experienced a Golden Age in the 17th century, when it became a world leader in trade, industry, science and art. It also established a vast colonial empire through the Dutch East India Company. - The Dutch Republic declined in the 18th century, due to wars with Britain and France, internal conflicts and economic stagnation. - The Netherlands became a constitutional monarchy in 1815, after being occupied by France under Napoleon. It also lost most of its colonies in the 19th and 20th centuries .

1: The Maastricht Treaty became effective on November 1, 1993. On February 7, 1992, the Maastricht Treaty (Treaty on European Union) was signed in Maastricht, The Netherlands. It formally created the European Union (EU), and granted EU citizenship to every citizen of a EU country. The EU now has 27 members, it’s headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, and its president is Madam Ursula von der Leyen. She’s the first lady and first German to hold the post. The EU replaced the European Economic Community, which was established by the Rome Treaty on March 25, 1957. 2: Happy 42nd Independence Day to Antigua and Barbuda, which declared its independence from Britain on November 1, 1981. Located in the Lesser Antilles in the eastern Caribbean Sea, its capital is St. John's, its current prime minister and head of government is Gaston Browne, its head of state is King Charles III of Britain, who's represented by Governor-General Rodney Williams. It practises constitutional monarchy, with a senate and a house of representatives. 10 facts about the UK Mission to the United Nations 👇 🇬🇧 The UK is a founding member of the United Nations and one of five permanent members of the Security Council. 🇬🇧 The first meetings of the United Nations General Assembly and the Security Council actually took place in London in January 1946. 🇬🇧 The 15 countries on the Security Council agree resolutions to deal with threats to international peace and security. To be agreed, a resolution requires nine votes in favour and no vetoes from the permanent members. The UK has used a veto 29 times but has not used it since 1989. 🇬🇧 Last year, the UK wrote 40% of the Security Council's agreed resolutions. 🇬🇧 Every UK proposed resolution since 1976 has received the required nine votes in favour (although many have been vetoed by other permanent members). 🇬🇧 There have been 18 UK Prime Ministers, and three British Monarchs since the United Nations was founded in 1945. Standing at 191 metres, One Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza is the 102nd tallest building in New York. 🇬🇧 The building was named after the second Secretary-General of the United Nations, Dag Hammarskjöld, who died in a plane crash in 1961. He was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize posthumously. 🇬🇧 The towering sculpture that stands directly in front of the UN was created by a British artist. Supply Nation has never stoped amazing me with the reach this peak Australian organisation has. As an Aboriginal company owner it is time for both the Australian State and Federal Government to establish a single stand alone organisation to verify and certify Aboriginal controlled companies. If our government has any chance in stamping out #BlackCladding in the #IPP and #Apic space this is the only way to do it. I constantly find none Aboriginal companies clearly confused with the direct engagement policy, this is happing from all the mixed messaging. we all know that all the big companies work across multiple State and Territory and we all know once a policy in this country is adopted thair is allways attempts to control the narrative, Having multiple organisations in this space being able to provide certification of a Aboriginal owned company will lead to conflict, Confusion and miss information. I have all ready been confronted with this by a company that would not engage with one of our SupplyNation companies because it was not certified by a state run Organisation.It is time for change and time for a robust process befor this gets out of hand like every thing else that our people have to deal with.
