It's about the Individual. ... At our recent Pharma Leader Awards, Rosalina De Abreu shared some profound insights from her experience in our programme: "Participating in the programme made me truly consider each person individually. It encouraged me to take a step back, invest the time to understand each person more meaningfully, and be intentional in my approach. It’s essential to embrace this mindset and lead by example. It might seem obvious, but genuinely practicing it is challenging. It’s not about the quick wins we're used to; it’s about fully engaging with each person and being present with them. This means showing vulnerability, being authentic in every interaction, and understanding how each person’s strengths play out. This experience has made me more reflective and focused on what will make the best difference for each individual and how to bring out the best in them.”_ Rosalina's words remind us of the importance of personalised leadership and the impact it can have. Let's strive to lead with authenticity and intention, making a difference one person at a time.

Be a great leader today: The most effective leaders encourage more than they criticize. The most respected leaders listen more than they talk. The most followed leaders care more about their team than their image. The most admired leaders take responsibility more than making excuses. The most influential leaders are more humble than prideful. The most courageous leaders are more generous than self serving.

In a world where titles and positions are often emphasized, it’s crucial to remember the essence of true leadership. This statement sums it up perfectly: “Become the kind of leader that people would follow voluntarily, even if you had no title or position.” It’s a reminder that authentic leadership is about influence, not authority. Let’s strive to be leaders who inspire, empower, and serve, regardless of our titles.

I’m passionate about history and a firm believer that by observing remarkable figures, leaders, and nations, I can fast-track my personal growth. After reading 'The Conqueror' series by Conn Iggulden, I couldn't help but notice the striking parallels between historical leadership and modern corporate strategies. In a recent Citywire Americas article, I explore some of the key lessons from one of the most controversial but undeniably successful historical leaderships and their relevance to today’s business world.
