It was a pleasure to co-chair the APSCo Clinical & Healthcare Sector meeting with Benton Robertson last week; hosted by Tania Bowers, Global Public Policy Director at APSCo. We had fabulous insights from Kate Harper, Director of Research & Insights at NHSP Professionals, giving their view on the flexible workforce landscape and the #nhsworkforce plan. Key takeaways: • the #nhs acknowledge the need for a contingent workforce with 140,000 in the plan • NHSP were, like members, surprised by the lack of ‘winter pressure’ demand this year but puts it down to lack of budget as the need is there • The ultimate aim is ‘one workforce’; substantive, bank and #recruitment working collaboratively and seamlessly across care settings Novello Healthcare's mission is to create a sustainable agency model as part of the contingent workforce, working with partners across the sector to make this happen.
