The blurred lines of accountability, responsibility and wellbeing are the reasons why so few companies are getting on board with their teams sharing more content online. Many managers & leaders understand the value of their teams sharing more; it’s awareness for the company, it’s a personal touch, it’s mostly free…but I think it also adds another duty of care which is yet to be entirely established. And I think this is why so many companies are more hesitant. Who takes the fall when something is misinterpreted? What are the guidelines when personal opinions clash with brand values? How do we protect employees from the backlash or pressures that come with being a representative voice? For me, it’s not just about creating policies, it’s about creating a culture that protects and empowers employees to confidently share content with as few blurred lines as possible. Would be interested to hear from those managing employee advocacy programmes (or thinking about it!) and how these policies would work 💭

Who can picture this? It's the 16th of January, 2026, and another year has gone by. What are you celebrating? Because if you're not celebrating, could there be some regret? If you look back 365 days from now and realise nothing has really changed, would that be okay with you? Lots of questions, I know, but the good news is we still have a year to make those choices count. Think about the vision you want for your business this time next year. Set clear, actionable goals. Whether it's fostering innovation, expanding your market, increasing your brand's visibility, or enhancing employee wellbeing - what steps can you take today to make that vision a reality? I'm attending Elaine's workshop next week to get some help with that and, most importantly, to be held accountable throughout the year. How do you stay accountable? #isleofman

How can you make employee advocacy more attractive to employees? The obvious answer is to use rewards and gifts. But that's not the best approach - these rarely result in sustained behaviour change. When the rewards stop - the behaviour stops - the posting and sharing stops. Instead look at the importance of friends, colleagues and the company culture in making it more attractive. If you're surrounded by people who are active on Linkedin you're more likely to want to do it too. Behaviours are attractive when they help us fit in. James Clear, author of Atomic Habits, suggests there are 3 groups where we imitate habits. - The close - The many - The powerful One of the most effective things you can do as a company is to make being a brand ambassador the normal behaviour. And this starts at the top. In our newsletter tomorrow I will share 3 steps you can take to start shaping a culture where employee advocacy becomes the norm. Call for Culture was built on the idea that it's time (past time!) to reimagine work's role in positively impacting people and society. Over the years we've refined our mission, gained clarity on who we are, and leaned into the unique way we're able to make an impact. If you've been with us for some time, you've seen this evolution in real-time, and we're so thankful for you. If you're new here - we're so glad you're here. Welcome! It's important to us that we bring intentionality to the way we empower, inspire, and mobilize our community, and we have some exciting news on that front: We are re-imagining our email newsletter with you in mind. We are excited to introduce Voices for Change, our new monthly newsletter format dedicated to building a better world of work by empowering leaders to integrate social change and workplace culture to enrich the employee and human experience. You can expect this new format to be a true digest of our research, advocacy, and community gatherings along with first-look access to announcements and offerings. Voices for Change is more than just a newsletter—it's a platform for meaningful conversations about the impact we want to have as we look to enact change and role model positive, sustainable, and healthy values in the communities and organizations where we contribute, lead, and influence. In every issue you'll find stories, intersecting concepts, and tools that reflect our commitment to equitable and inclusive workplaces that role-model the humanity we want to see in the world. Better understanding the role of work in society, connecting to this humanity, and progressing a more equitable and just future is the work to improve and create more people-centered workplace cultures. We encourage you to contribute your thoughts, share your experiences, and engage in this journey with us as we strive to create lasting change. Together, let's continue building a culture where every voice matters. Subscribe: https://lnkd.in/dcKBJTY6
