Well said sir. Housing is the foundation of stability. There is something profoundly human about the need for a safe, stable place to call home. Housing isn’t just about having a roof over your head—it’s about creating a space where families can thrive, children can grow, and communities can flourish. A home provides more than shelter; it offers security, dignity, and a foundation for building a better life. When we strengthen access to quality, affordable housing, we aren’t just helping individuals—we’re empowering entire communities. This belief is what drives my passion for the work I do every day. Whether we’re helping develop housing, restoring communities, or providing deconstruction for materials resale, I know that we are contributing to something far greater than just the structures we work on. We are helping to create opportunities for stability, growth, and hope. Housing is more than a need—it’s a right. And it’s a cause we all care deeply about. Together, let’s build a future where every person can experience the safety and security that a stable home provides. #HousingMatters #CommunityDevelopment #AffordableHousing #Stability #MakingADifference #capefearhabitatforhumanity

Since the arrival of Habitat for Humanity International and its Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter in Peru, comprehensive market studies have been conducted to understand the building behavior and housing habits of vulnerable families in urban areas. Subsequently, we faced the challenge of explaining in simple terms how this process works — a process that isn't initially easy to grasp. Four housing typologies were identified, documenting the lengthy journey of up to 30 years that a family may undergo to achieve the dream of owning a home. Since then, the Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter has established itself as the leading facilitator within the progressive housing ecosystem, a term we coined in 2018 to describe homes that are continually under construction over the years, sometimes taking decades to complete. We invite you to watch this video detailing the journey. 📝 In Peru and across more than 70 countries worldwide #WeAreHabitat

Manorwood Homes, a Cavco company, has partnered with Habitat for Humanity International to build modular homes for deserving families. These factory-built modular homes are constructed to high quality standards in less time than traditional stick-built homes. This innovative approach to working smarter, not harder, is the perfect way to expand Habitat's impact in the communities it serves. “It’s been our absolute pleasure to build our relationship with Manorwood Homes (Cavco),” said Maureen Lashlee, CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County, New York. “At a time when America is experiencing a housing crisis, Manorwood Homes has helped us grow from building one house every two years to building five houses in one year.” Looking ahead, Manorwood Homes and Habitat for Humanity are gearing up for several new projects. In Ulster County, they will break ground on a 10-lot subdivision this fall, featuring eight Manorwood modular homes and two stick-built homes. Dutchess County has another ranch home on order, with groundbreaking for a five-lot subdivision planned for spring. Similar plans are underway in Monroe, Steuben and Orange counties. With Manorwood’s homebuilding expertise and Habitat for Humanity’s reach, this partnership has a bright future of providing quality homes to families that need them and making a significant contribution to combatting the affordable housing crisis. #modularhousing #manufacturing #construction #community #positivity #givingback

🌿 New Community Green Spaces Fund Launches 🌿 The Government has unveiled a new £7 million Community Green Spaces Fund aimed at revitalising rural areas across England. Grants of up to £75,000 will be available for community projects from Northumberland to Cornwall. Imagine the difference this could make: community orchards bursting with fruit, kitchen gardens brimming with veggies, improved green spaces attracting pollinators and vibrant natural play areas for our kids to enjoy. There will also be a strong focus on accessibility, with funding allocated for paths, seating, and parking spaces. An additional £5 million is dedicated to modernising village halls and enhancing connectivity within these community keystones. Robbie Moore MP, Minister for Rural Affairs, emphasises that this fund is a step towards integrating the needs of rural people and businesses into the heart of policymaking. It’s an action-packed plan with improved transport, digital access, and a boost to the rural economy, all while safeguarding the unique character of these areas. Richard Quallington of ACRE welcomes the move, highlighting the fund's alignment with environmental and community health goals. This initiative is part of the government’s pledge to ensure no one is more than a 15-minute walk from greenery, aligning with the goals set out in the Environment Improvement Plan. For local government officers, town councils, and neighbourhood developers, this is an opportunity for growth and to promote sustainable communities. Applications expected to open this summer, we'll keep you posted. #CommunityGreenSpacesFund #RuralDevelopment #LocalGovernment #ACRE #SustainableCommunities #RuralEngland
