🔍"Rising Teen Influence: AI & Voting Rights On The Horizon?"🔬 In an unusual turn of events, discussions around enabling voting rights at 16 and introducing an AI bill were noticeably missing from the King's Speech as reported by Financial Times. These topics have been surfacing as key conversations in the socio-political landscape. Many believe in the potential capabilities of AI-driven solutions that could change economies and lives, hence an AI bill is anticipated to set the ground rules and provide a unified direction. The absence of the proposed AI bill could indicate a delay in harnessing AI's potential to drive economic growth. The rising teen influence is noteworthy as it signifies a shift in societal norms fostering early adulthood responsibilities. This could be a tipping point for both the tech world and democracy, but raises many questions.💡 What could be the reason behind the absence of these important measures? Do you think we're prepared for the impact these changes may bring? Is society ready to put significant decisions such as AI's use and voting rights into younger hands? [ AI & Religion ] If ethics truly make a difference in the management of artificial intelligence, then we inevitably need to have an open discussion about the role of morality and religion. Without forgetting and leaving behind billions of human beings in the world.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says Jewish workers in tech, including himself, have received more support than their Muslim and Palestinian peers and had more freedom to speak about the Israel-Palestine war without fear of repercussions for their careers.

Interesting topic that I have heard about recently.
The worry around deception using deep fakes and 'cheap fakes” is not limited to politics alone. As recruiters, we have experience dealing with fake and proxy candidates using advancing technology to achieve their ends, especially in IT. But deep- and cheap- fakes take this a step further. Hiring managers across the board need to start preparing to tackle these issues or, better yet, hire experts who can handle them for you! Very interesting (and a little worrying) piece by Vittoria Elliott and WIRED. https://lnkd.in/gUwzf2pJ

"There’s a lot we can do to support responsible AI. AI isn’t going anywhere — and now, as the technology quickly emerges, is the moment to support organizations and activists working to defend democracy and build a responsible AI future. Here are four reasons why funders must act to resource the organizations protecting elections, fighting misinformation, combating bias, and defending human rights in a changing digital landscape." Thank you Diana Hunter and Albert Cevallos for this powerful Tides blog on the important role funders can - and should - play in supporting responsible AI this election season. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #elections https://lnkd.in/gQxhAFNM

Great to see OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, speak out & acknowledge the bias within the #techindustry. Calling Out Bias in the Tech Industry: Do you feel supported to speak, or do you feel pressured to stay uncomfortably silent? While an empathetic approach is always a great start, it's also about the active united support- as we all know, but what does this type of support look like? I'd say It’s high time now for all the tech industry, startup & VC’s community that boast about their #diversity, #equity and #inclusion practices as core pillar of their innovative culture, to share what support have they put in place during this atrocious time to foster an inclusive, healthy, safe working environment, and cohesive culture that is open & welcoming for everyone! I'm interested to hear from those within the #TechCommunity, #STEM, People & Culture #DEI within the industry- How have you been providing inclusive support during this time, so that everyone can feel equally safe, seen, heard & included. 👇🏽Let me know in the comments below👇🏽 #TechDiversity #TechInclusion
