First delivery of GreenCoat Pural BT/Zero to the UK 🇬🇧 We are excited to announce the arrival of our first shipment of GreenCoat Pural BT/Zero to the UK! Our initial batch has been successfully delivered to Firth Steels in Brighouse, West Yorkshire. Firth Steels, a leading manufacturer of steel profile products for wall and roof systems, is a long-term partner of SSAB. We are now expanding our collaboration to include our emission-free steel products. This delivery is a significant milestone, demonstrating that the supply chain can work together to reduce emissions across borders. From sustainable transportation to renewable energy usage, every step of the process has been designed to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Highlights: • First batch of GreenCoat® steel produced with virtually no fossil carbon emissions delivered to Firth Steels • HVO-powered truck used for transportation • Solar-powered electric side loaders used for on-site handling • 100% renewable energy used to process the coils The final product will be used in a cadet training center, aiming for a net-zero building with at least 70% recycled materials. This project sets a new standard for sustainable construction in the UK. Gary Matthews, Sales Manager UK, says, "It has been an exciting journey to reach this point, a fantastic first project for SSAB and SSAB Zero to be involved in." Together, we are building a greener future! #GreenCoat #Sustainability #GreenSteel #SSABZero #FirthSteels #RenewableEnergy #NetZero

Leading the Way in Sustainable Steel: Coen Steel’s Commitment to Fossil-Free Steel! During the week, we had the opportunity to meet with John Sisk Builders along with SSAB to discuss the future of fossil-free steel and how it’s set to transform the way we build. The discussion focused on HYBRIT, a revolutionary technology developed by SSAB, which produces steel using hydrogen instead of traditional coal-based methods. This ground-breaking approach significantly reduces the carbon footprint of steel production, helping to address the urgent need for decarbonization across industries. As the only supplier in Ireland offering fossil-free steel, Coen Steel is proud to be at the forefront of this important change. At Coen Steel, we understand that the construction industry plays a critical role in the transition to a net-zero future. By offering green steel as part of our product range, we enable our clients to integrate sustainable materials into their projects, helping them meet both environmental targets and regulatory requirements. Collaborations like the one with John Sisk Builders and SSAB are vital in advancing the adoption of greener construction practices. We are excited about the future and look forward to working together to create more sustainable, resilient infrastructure for the next generation. Sunset at Stegra’s flagship green steel project in Boden, Northern Sweden where groundwork is currently underway. The Swedish company, backed by Hy24 via its #CleanH2 Infra Fund, is aiming to build the world’s first large-scale hashtag #greensteel plant, with plans to produce 5 millions tons/year by the end of the decade. Using #hydrogen instead of traditional blast furnace technology could help cut emissions of the total process by 95% 📉 — a crucial aspect as steelmaking is still responsible for more than 2.6 billion metric tons of CO2 emissions annually. Time to celebrate another new fossil-free steel collaboration – now with MANITOU Group! 🌱⚙ Soon Manitou machines, like telehandlers, aerial work platforms and forklifts, could be made with SSAB emission-free steels. We expect to start carbon emission-free deliveries in 2026 and ramp up as our fossil-free steel production capacity increases. “Our goal is to revolutionize the way steel is produced and pave the way for a greener future. Thanks to customers like Manitou Group, who share our ambition of reducing carbon emissions, we’re able to create early markets for sustainable steel,” says Olavi Huhtala, Head of SSAB Europe, who this week visited the fossil-free HYBRIT pilot plant in Luleå, Sweden, together with Manitou Group’s Maurizio Achilli. At Forgeway, we believe durability is the cornerstone of sustainability, particularly when it comes to adhesives used in critical applications like wind turbines, solar panels, and electric vehicles. While 'green' adhesives may sound appealing, many fall short in terms of performance, leading to shorter lifespans, frequent replacements, and more waste. True sustainability lies in creating adhesives that withstand the test of time. By developing high-strength, durable adhesives, we reduce the need for repairs and replacements, minimising waste and supporting a greener future through long-lasting solutions Our Greener Durability initiative reflects this commitment. Instead of focusing solely on 'green' materials, we aim to create products that balance performance with sustainability. a new article in our December client newsletter, “Bridging a Low Carbon Future”, which highlights the construction of Switzerland’s first pedestrian footbridge made entirely of low carbon steel using our XCarb® recycled and renewably produced heavy plates. This collaboration with SOTTAS SA is a milestone in sustainable construction, showcasing how innovative low carbon solutions can meet demanding technical requirements while significantly reducing the environmental impact. The structure has been built in four separate welded sections with a total weight of 150 tonnes. It was lifted into place in one piece with a high-capacity 750 tonne crawler crane. The bridge is scheduled for completion in March 2025. #structuralsteel #xcarb #arcelormittal #engineering #civilengineering #bridge #decarbonisation #lifecycleanalysis
