🌍 Established Players with New Market Entrants: Green NCAP Releases Findings 🌍 Today, Green NCAP releases results for the Honda CR-V and the FIAT Doblo, and further information on the recent tests of the ZEEKR 001 and the ZEEKR X. 🛣️ “Hybrids are a viable alternative for consumers looking to reduce their carbon footprint. However, Green NCAP’s experience shows that under motorway conditions, these powertrains help only moderately to deliver driving economy, particularly in the case of a heavier and larger vehicle such as an SUV. Both tested vehicles—petrol and diesel—had very low pollutant emissions, proof of good working modern exhaust aftertreatment. In general, diesel cars can offer a good economy, but the challenge comes with the greenhouse gas emissions released by the combustion of fossil fuels. And with electric-powered cars, consumers should be aware that consumption on the highway, especially under cold weather conditions, might be significantly higher,” explains Dr. Aleksandar Damyanov, Green NCAP’s Technical Manager. 🍃 Read the latest press release here 👉 bit.ly/2406GreenNCAPPR 🚗 Zeekr Europe Zeekr Technology Europe Honda Fiat #forgreenercars #cars #sustainability #lifecycleassessment #futuremobility #greenmobility #cleanair #vehicletesting #zeroemissions #LCAtool #FIAT #Doblo #Honda #CRV #fossilfuel #EV #electric #hybrid #petrol #diesel #families #family #familycar #SUV

🌎 Green NCAP proves all powertrains need greener objectives 🌎 Today, Green NCAP releases the assessment results of seven vehicles with a range of powertrains: three electric vehicles from Tesla, Renault, and MG, three hybrid cars from Mazda, Mitsubishi, and Alfa Romeo, and one purely petrol-powered car from BMW, all recently introduced onto the European market. Green NCAP reveals with the results that unless manufacturers strongly commit to sustainability by lowering emissions, fuel consumption, and increasing efficiency, cars may not be as green as they claim to be, independent of the powertrain. Green NCAP Technical Manager Aleksandar Damyanov explains, "The label of ‘hybrid’ does not automatically mean it outperforms a well-managed combustion-engine vehicle. Manufacturers offer various levels of hybridisation to cater to different objectives. At the same time, in some cases, more power does not necessarily result in more impact on the environment." 🍃 Read the press release here 👉 https://lnkd.in/e8sG4bax 🚗 Tesla MG Motor Europe Renault Mazda Motor Europe BMW Group Alfa Romeo Mitsubishi Corporation #forgreenercars #cars #sustainability #lifecycleassessment #futuremobility #greenmobility #cleanair #vehicletesting #zeroemissions #LCAtool #LCAAward #LCA #hybrid #starratings #fivestars #EV #electric #diesel #petrol #combustion #engine #greenerchoice #hybrid #mildhybrid #pluginhybrid #greenstars #Tesla #MG #Renault #MAZDA #BMW #AlfaRomeo #Mitsubishi

Forget fuel cells, Toyota says hydrogen ICE is the best option for its off-road SUV. By ERIN KILGORE The automaker believes zero emissions can be achieved with internal combustion engines. Clean transportation goes beyond electric batteries, fuel cells, and synthetic fuels, and Toyota is demonstrating this by testing hydrogen ICE (internal combustion engine) in its vehicles, including its HiAce and, it hopes, eventually an H2 Land Cruiser. The Japanese auto giant is working on adapting ICEs to work with hydrogen. Toyota recently revealed it’s scaling back its hydrogen fuel cell passenger vehicle goals in favor of pursuing H2 commercial vehicles. That said, this hasn’t stopped the automaker from exploring the possibility of adapting the traditional internal combustion engine and converting it to run on hydrogen. So far, the company has tested hydrogen ICE in motorsport events, including in the GR Carolla and the turbocharged 1.6-liter engine of the GR Yaris. Moreover, Toyota has modified its HiAce ICE to run on a hydrogen-burning internal combustion engine instead of one powered by gasoline or diesel. https://lnkd.in/dRrZabp6

This KDH engine uses a fuel predicted 100 years ago: It has experts shocked with zero-emission combustion This engine should not run and turns on its own fuel: It has no cylinders or pistons, and no logic Hawking predicted this fuel, and they’ve created the first engine: It’s not electric, not hydrogen, not gasoline Toyota, one of the leaders in auto technology, is stirring things up again with its rather radical solution for the mainstream electric car. Due to the polarization of the industry around battery electric vehicles, Toyota is now considering many routes to reach the desired carbon neutrality, and hydrogen combustion technology appears to be one of the solutions. There have been recent revelations of the Corolla Cross Hydrogen Concept, and this proves that Toyota has embarked on a different line to produce environmentally friendly cars. This brave step evidences Toyota’s long-term vision to respond to global environmental issues and its commitment to contributing to the development of sustainable mobility following the markets and customers’ demands worldwide. #innovation #environment #globaleconomy #transportation #sustainability #mobility #climateaction #climatechange https://lnkd.in/eVj3ykCC

#Volvo is living up to the promise it made last year when it announced to end production of vehicles powered by diesel engines in early 2024. This XC90 assembled at the company's Torslanda factory is the final oil-burner produced by the Swedish automaker, ending an era that started 45 years ago. The blue SUV won't be heading to a customer since it'll go into a museum for posterity. In 2017, Volvo announced plans to end development of diesel engines. Last month, the final vehicle with a diesel engine (a #V60) was built in Ghent, Belgium. Now, the diesel engine is completely gone from the lineup. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) claims diesel's market share in Europe dropped from 16.4% in 2022 to 13.6% in 2023. Fully electric vehicles were more popular last year by taking a 14.6% share. https://lnkd.in/g2Ycp4dc #IONAXS #CleanMobility #eMobility #ElectricCars #FutureMobility #Batteries #Automotive #ElectricVehicles #AutonomousVehicles #EV #Lithium #Innovation #Sustainability #Recycling #Future #Energy #Efficiency #Technology #AVEVAI #TomTsogt 🔔👍
