🌏 Green NCAP factsheets show EVs' lessened life-cycle carbon footprint 🌏 Last August, data from Green NCAP factsheets shows a positive shift in the environmental impact of electric vehicles. Using more recent data on battery production, electricity supply, biofuel mixes, and expanded data coverage of countries like Norway, Green NCAP found that electric vehicles' life cycle carbon footprints had lowered.🍃 LCA is a methodology that estimates all the emissions associated with the production and use of a specific product from cradle to grave. There is a broad consensus that this method is essential for producing fair environmental assessments of transportation systems. 🍃 Green NCAP Reveals Reduction in Life Cycle Carbon Footprint of EVs 🍃 Today, Green NCAP is releasing life cycle assessment factsheets and updated data that show real progress in the life cycle carbon footprint of new electric vehicles entering the European market. 🤝 Green NCAP visits CATARC Certification in China🤝 On 10 July, Green NCAP Technical Manager Dr. Aleksandar Damyanov discussed the technical details and framework of the programme with automotive experts at the CATARC headquarters in Tianjin, China. Li Xiangrong, Director of CAAC Evaluation, welcomed Damyanov and presented the development history and framework of their C-GCAP in this seminar. 🍃 "Both our vehicle sustainability assessment programmes realise the importance of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and we both have already invested significant effort in building our LCA systems. The next milestone can be achieved by industry cooperation, which will allow us to have a more precise and vehicle-specific evaluation.
