🌍 The #KlimaSeniorinnen aka Swiss Senior Women for Climate Protection took their government to Court over climate inaction - and won! 🌍 Now what? After their landmark victory in the KlimaSeniorinnen case at the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), one would think that Switzerland would take bold steps towards climate justice, right? Well, not quite... The Swiss government released its National Action Report, claiming their current climate strategy is good enough – despite the ECtHR ruling! This means Switzerland still plans to emit more than its fair share of global emissions, threatening the future of both present and future generations. 🚨 The Swiss response falls woefully short. It recycles old policies, ignores climate science, and sidesteps the responsibility the Court made crystal clear: protect people and the planet by cutting emissions in line with 1.5°C.
