This week we hosted a global live event with our team around the world to talk about safety as a core value, launching - a new brand - 𝗪𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲, part of our renewed commitment to protecting our people. 𝗪𝗲 𝗚𝗲𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 marks the beginning of a new era for safety at TK Elevator. We want our people to look out for one another. We want to keep our people safe: for their families, their friends and their communities. 𝗪𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲. Creating a culture of safety excellence requires more than just tools and procedures. It demands a forward-thinking approach and a commitment to quality. MAKE YOUR SAFETY CULTURE CONTAGIOUS!!! MAKE IT PERSONAL - when it becomes personal to the individual and their families, it will become more crucial for them to want to understand and follow. MAKE IT RELEVANT- talk about safety as it relates to their day to day. emphasize the parts that your teams deal with more often and present the most challenges. ENCOURAGE INVOLVEMENT - the more people you have contributing, the more people you will have learning. MAKE IT VISIBLE - put up posters that carry positive reinforcement, share pictures of success stories, place reminders of why we live safely in high traffic areas. Anything you can do to put a face to your program will help. PREACH ITS VALUE - from the first day an employee walks through your doors, preach how important safety is to your organization. install your values early and reinforce them often. make everyone involved feel your commitment to them and let it build a continuing level of trust. REWARD AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT - take every opportunity you have to acknowledge and reward your team when you see positive changes. when they accomplish things above and beyond let them know it's appreciated. when it becomes consistent and fuels major wins, let them feel a part of that success.  "The Human Side of Safety Culture" https://lnkd.in/gxb5f63S

The events of recent years in America would suggest a new approach to the concept of Safety First is needed (the known and traditional one appears worn out, obsolete, having become a practice with no real content anymore). Perhaps a new paradigm is needed, from a different point of view and observation - a resumption of analysis and a reevaluation of the concept of Safety with new tools, new labels, parameters and different paradigms.
