Stocks in focus for 24th Sept: 1) BHARTI AIRTEL announced that it has made a concerted effort to bolster its network infrastructure across the western state of Gujarat. Over the past seven months, it has erected more than 1,700 new cellular towers throughout the region. 2) COAL INDIA announced that it entered into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RRVUNL) to establish a 2x800 MW brownfield thermal power project at RRVUNL's existing Kalisindh Thermal Power Station in Rajasthan. 3) Reliance Power board of directors approved the issue of preferential shares to raise Rs 1,524.60 crore. 4) PNB announced floor price of Rs 109.16 per share for the Qualified Institutions Placement that was launched on September 23. This represents 2 percent discount from the closing market price of Rs 111.49.

Uttar Pradesh touched 29000MW of power demand in May 2024. It was approx 14000 MW in 2014-15. It is 2X in 10 years, forecasted 50000 MW by 2031-32. A state with the largest poor & labourers supplier, has highest potential to grow, with increasing manufacturing & construction. At 50 GW, per capita consumption of UP will touch 1000 units, lower than today's national average. My suggestion to Hon'ble CM to appoint a power sector professional from the Private Sector as CMD & Principal Secretary -Energy to ensure Zero Outage in Cities with more than one Million. Present situation, too many outages in city like Lucknow, Noida, Ghaziabad and Kanpur and not even a single MD has been questioned by State Government to explain!!!
