The recommendation of SJ Solar flagship product:N-type TOPCon 10BB&16BB 182.2*183.75 Solar Cell. With the re-implementation of the India ALMM regulations, the limitations on the production capacity of high product quality modules in India once again magnified in the public eye. Despite the efforts of Indian module manufacturers to climb the module technology ladder, most of PV manufacturers are still continuing to produce P-type 10BB Mono PERC modules at scale, while Chinese manufacturers are currently producing more efficient N-type technology modules at scale. Currently, only about 20% of manufacturers in India have N-type module production lines (being compatible of 16BB and above solar cell). On the surface, the reactivation of the ALMM regulations means that the Indian photovoltaic industry is losing cutting-edge technology. But, in fact, this is not a big problem. As I have been communicating with Indian module manufacturers before, about 80% of the current PERC module production capacity in India can use N-type 10BB TOPCon solar cell to produce TOPCon modules. In year 2023, we recommend to use 182.2*182.2 TOPCon 10BB solar cells. However, in year 2024, at this moment, we really recommend to use our flagship product: N-type 182.2*183.75 TOPCon 10BB solar cell.Take 72pcs module for example, the output power of 182.2*183.75 TOPCon 10BB module can be 8Watt higher than 182.2*182.2 TOPCon 10BB module. Moreover, 182.2*183.75 module size is consistent with the 182.2*182.2 module size. Honestly, this is also the mainstream TOPCon Solar cell size in China Domestic. Of course, for the other newly updated module production lines which is compatible of 16BB and above solar cells.So for this part of the production capacity, we will undoubtedly recommend to use we SJ Solar N-type 182.2*183.75 TOPCon 16BB solar cell. The same situation applies to the other  module manufacturers in Türkiye,  Korea, Europe and other markets in the world. 15 Tenders | 2 Awarded | 178 MWh Commissioned | 66% price drop That's to summarize the first 7 months of 2024 for the Indian Energy Storage sector. Since the first tender in 2018, India has seen 65 tenders linked with #energystorage associated with #renewable capacity of 27 GW and #ESS capacity of 75 GWh. As on date a total of 42 GWh #capacity is in open #tendering stage and 17 GWh awarded/ under #execution. Of the total capacity tendered (under competitive bidding), 51GWh is #pumpedhydro specific while 9 GWh is #battery specific, with the rest being technology agnostic. 2024, saw the lowest #tariff discoveries too for standalone BESS @ INR 3.72 lacs/MW/month (66% drop in 2 years time) and #Solar + BESS @ INR 3.41/kWh both matching shoulders and beating many of their contemporaries. Today's union budget also announced about #policy for developing #pumpedhydro which would further amplify the activities in the energy storage space in India. Just to reiterate, by the end of this decade India would require 19 GW of pumped hydro (from 3.3 GW today) and 42 GW of BESS! A lot more needs to happen and at a much faster pace! #energytransition

Conclusion To conclude, there is an urgent need for forward-looking technical standards and grid codes to accommodate emerging technologies in inverter-based reso­ur­ces, battery energy storage systems and hydrogen electrolysers. Given the co­mplexity of India’s large power syst­em, anticipating the behaviour of these new technological breakthroughs is essential to avoid potential challenges in retrofits. Ensuring high levels of compliance monitoring is vital, especially as advancements such as grid-forming in­verters become necessary in the near future. Flexibility in standards is key, requiring extensive stakeholder consultations to establish a shared vision. Overall, transmission planning eme­r­g­es as a critical and challenging aspect, particularly with the integration of large solar parks, wind farms and energy storage. To manage variable and bi­directional power flows, the adoption of high voltage direct current and flexible alternating current transmission system devices is crucial. Incorporating traditional and new technologies such as synchronous condensers, STATCOM and grid-forming inverters becomes imperative to maintain inertia, handle short-circuit power and reactive power and provide black start facilities. In navigating these advancements, adaptability and a collaborative approach are paramount for the sustainable evolution of India’s power grid.
