⛔If someone asks if they can revive the community, please don't remove them with no context - rather it would be great to address them or ask where they feel like could improve from a position of willingness and open-mindedness. 🔥Imagine having someone who would be potentially your biggest support and advocate for the community if given the right guidance and training. ⁉️This happens a lot in franchised communities - where the brand and vision of the community effort are no longer localized, but you have very passionate localized supporters hoping to engage in bringing and keeping the local events and connections with the same foundation of a bigger mission. 📌The unfortunate part is that as a community brand scales to focus on a national or global scope, the local chapters sometimes lose the support and resources from the national, and it's up to the local leaders to help lead. And no one is perfect. 🙏Spend time training the local leaders, and spend time providing the most passionate volunteers the resources, tools, and frameworks in how they can support the bigger mission. You're not going to be able to do it alone especially if it's a non-profit. Yes, it's time-consuming, yes, it takes effort, yes, you need to do some due diligence on their character and, yes, if it works out you may be giving up control, but, yes, if they are aligned, and they are passionate, you may have someone who can jump-start your community into something great. #bettertogether #embracepositivity

"Networking" somewhere along the way got a bad rap. Like we were all out there trying to GET something from other people in exchange for our time. Networking kind of became like the word "sales" - there is a bit of that "someone selling snake oil" vibe going on. But networking at its best is similar to ethical sales - its people meeting up, in conversation, sharing ideas, passions, resources and more. Now, more than ever, investing in nonprofit networking is not just beneficial—it's essential for fostering resilience, driving impact, and ensuring sustainable growth of the social impact sector. We need each other. We need these conversations. This work is not going to get easier any time soon. If anything, there is hard work coming our way to create cultural change in nonprofit work. So start connecting - whether here in The Nonprofit Hive or in other amazing nonprofit networks. Join us! #networking #nonprofit #philanthropymatters #socialimpact #nonprofitwork

There are lots of different ways to create community. I work with #associations and find that membership is only one way to engage our diverse stakeholders. I wrote an article about optimizing community that helps us create groups by the following types: https://lnkd.in/g6DEKav9 -- Community of Interest: A group of people who connect over a shared passion or experience. -- Community of Practice: A group of people who share a common profession, craft, or skill. -- Community of Place or Space: A community defined by geographic location, proximity, or common platform. -- Community of Action: A group of people who come together to take collective action toward a common goal or purpose. -- Community of Circumstance: Brings people together who share a common situation, challenge, or experience, often unexpectedly or involuntarily. Take a look and let me know what you think. #assnchat #associationmanagement #nonprofits

We help nonprofits set up & clean up CRM systems to reduce data/workflow issues, save staff-hours, and boost fundraising and programmatic outcomes. Our 3-Phase Approach: assess CRM, optimize systems, and train the team.
I’ve got to say, one of the best parts of working in the nonprofit space is getting to meet so many incredible people—whether it’s other consultants, foundation folks, or nonprofit pros, everyone’s got this shared goal of making the world a better place. And honestly? All of y'all are just really down-to-earth, cool people. 😎 For me, going to events is the highlight. There’s nothing quite like the buzz of networking, chatting with new faces, and sharing stories. It doesn’t feel like work when you’re connecting with people who care just as much about a mission as you do. It’s like a mix of catching up with old friends and meeting new ones who just get it. And sure, we talk shop, but it’s more than that. It’s about building real connections and learning from each other. Whether it’s swapping ideas over coffee or bumping into someone at an event, it’s you who makes everything so enjoyable. It’s those moments that keep me excited about the work. For all my intro-extroverts, shout out to y'all for charging up and making it out, and fellow extro-introverts always good to see ya out there fighting the fight. #NonprofitLife #NetworkingWithPurpose #GoodVibesOnly #PeopleMatter #MissionDriven
