In March of 2024, we began a household survey to capture the selling prices of 6 Basic Household items around the country. The items were: - 1Kg Rice (any brand) - 1Kg Flour (any brand) - 1Kg Sugar (any brand) - Bar of Bath Soap (any brand) - Bar of Laundry Soap (any brand) - Roll of Toilet Paper (any brand) Our running results are in for analysis. we were able to gather responses from 13 Provinces and 23 Districts of PNG via our online link. ICYMI : Article by ABC news highlights a major issue between produce growers and retail chain buyers. Are retail quality specifications the issue or is the lack of collaboration between retailers and their supply partners to inform shoppers of seasonal production realties and opportunities the issue ? Maybe the time is right to abandon what seems to be a one size (quality std) suits all. WW used to handle varying grades of produce in the period post launch of the FFP. WW work with cyclone damaged bananas is a step in the right direction. Must also face reality and for a variety of reasons, some produce is simply not going to be suitable for retail. #supermarkets #producespecs #multigrades #effective ranging

Can #Ghanarice Brands Adopt Patriotic Marketing? Ghana rice brands must be dealt with very differently from the rice commodity. As a #brand the brand owners must adopt skillful communication and identify themselves with finished consumer goods. Most #ghanarice brands are young and may have tight marketing budgets and even skill, but it must be clear that their brands need strategy to grow. #ghanaricebrands cannot expect their brands to flourish without creating a brand strategy. Being late entrants in the rice space in Ghana, especially preceded by foreign brands makes it even more so imparetive.
