🚀 Reflecting on an Inspiring Pathways to Tech Event! 🚀 I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Pathways to Tech Event, where I was inspired by industry leaders who shared their journeys and insights: • Shariar Kabir: CEO of Ruby (YC 23) and Ex-Salesforce, emphasized the importance of resilience and adaptability in the ever-evolving tech landscape. • Miguel Acero: CTO of Ruby (YC 23) and Ex-Google, highlighted the value of continuous learning and innovation. • Dustin Beadle: Director at Lattice and Former Director at AMD, discussed the significance of leadership and team dynamics in driving success. • Nabeel Alamgir: CEO of LunchBox, shared his remarkable journey of raising $100M in VC and the critical role of networking and persistence. Key Takeaways: 1. Resilience and Adaptability: Embracing change and staying flexible is crucial in tech. 2. Continuous Learning: Always be curious and open to new knowledge and skills. 3. Leadership and Teamwork: Strong leadership and effective collaboration are key to achieving great results. 4. Networking and Persistence: Building connections and staying persistent can open doors to incredible opportunities. Favorite Speaker: While all the speakers were inspiring, Shariar Kabir stood out to me. His insights on resilience and adaptability resonated deeply, especially in the context of my journey in tech. Maximizing Opportunities with Ruby: Given our exciting new partnership with Ruby, I plan to: 1. Leverage Learning Opportunities: Participate actively in all training and development sessions provided by Ruby. 2. Last Wednesday evening, despite the rain, the tech community of Split gathered with enthusiasm for Split Tech City's inaugural DEV Nights event. It’s the first in a promising series aimed directly at developers, and the turnout was impressive! 🎉 Our very own Ante Dagelić, not just our esteemed CTO but also a co-founder took a central role by moderating a discussion titled 'Challenges in Developing a Developer’s Career.' The panel was enriched by the diverse perspectives of Ivana Skelić from Undabot, Nenad Kovačević from Serengeti, and Dragan Rapić from Revendo, making for an insightful exchange on the nuances of career progression in the tech sphere. The evening's dialogue ventured beyond the technical, touching upon the personal and interpersonal skills necessary for advancement in the IT field, and exploring the dynamics within tech companies. It was a rare opportunity for both newcomers and veterans in the industry to gain valuable insights into personal growth and professional development. 🌱🤝 We extend our sincere thanks to Split Tech City for starting such a meaningful dialogue and for inviting Ante to contribute his vast expertise. Events like DEV Nights not only foster knowledge sharing but also play a crucial role in helping individuals navigate their unique paths in the career landscape. 🚀 Photo credit goes to Split Tech City, capturing the essence of the evening in a single frame. 📸 #DEVnight #DEVnight2024 #SplitTechCity #GetByBus #developer #developercarreers #sharingknowledge

🚀Takeaways from the Pathways to Tech Event 🚀 I had the great honor to be part of the Pathways to Tech Event whereby we had some amazing leaders in tech come share their thoughts. Shariar Kabir - CEO of Ruby (YC 23), Ex-Salesforce, Hiring Fellows; Miguel Acero - CTO of Ruby (YC 23), Ex-Google, Hiring Fellows; Dustin Beadle - Director at Lattice, Former Director at AMD; Nabeel Alamgir - CEO of LunchBox, Raised $100M in VC. Key Takeaways: Shariar Kabir - on adaptability and lifelong learning. His trajectory—from Salesforce to heading a YC startup—highlights that in the tech world one must be agile. Miguel Acero: Shared thoughts on how technical expertise can catalyze innovation. His experience at Google and now with Ruby shows what potential a deep, technical base with vision presents. Dustin Beadle: He talked about leadership and the process of building an effective team. His transition from AMD to Lattice was filled with much learning of how to manage growth and how to build a collaborative culture in an org. Nabeel Alamgir: Inspired us by his entrepreneurial spirit and raising funds. His story about raising 100 million dollars for LunchBox was a true example that passion and persistence make an impact. While all the speeches were great, one that seemed to reignite a fire in me was Shariar Kabir's. His emphasis on adaptability and lifelong learning really hit home, considering my skills are still in the formative stage as I navigate my career in tech. Action Plan: I'm looking forward to a number of ways that I can best align my time in the Fellowship in order to boost my potential for getting hired by Ruby, now that the partnership's been newly announced. Here's how I can do it: Deepen My Technical Skills: Build competency in coding and expertise in Ruby's tech stack. Network Actively: Leverage networking opportunities with Ruby's team and other fellows to forge meaningful connections. Engage in Projects: I am going to take up several projects and hackathons and ensure that my work aligns with the goals of Ruby. Stay in the know: I will stay up to date with all the developments in Ruby and with their initiatives not to be out of touch with their changing needs constantly. So motivated and gearing up to put my best foot forward in this Fellowship! 💪 #TechEvent #CareerDevelopment #ContinuousLearning #Networking #Fellowship #RubyTech #PathwaysToTech
