Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease from May 1, following a drop in international oil prices. Industry experts anticipate a decrease of Rs7.85 for diesel and Rs3.75 for petrol due to a $4.3 dip in diesel and a $1.86 dip in gasoline per barrel globally. However, uncertainty remains due to ongoing volatility in global oil prices, and the government's decision-making process considers various factors including global oil prices, currency valuation, fuel consumption, and supply costs of state-owned entities like Pakistan State Oil. #clickmepakistan #petrolprice #inflation #government #pricedrop

Pakistanis are likely to see a reduction in petrol and diesel prices in the upcoming fortnightly review on September 15. Reports indicate that prices could drop by approximately Rs10 per litre for both petrol and high-speed diesel, provided the government does not increase the petroleum levy. This expected decrease follows a $5 per barrel decline in global oil prices, which strengthens the case for lower fuel costs. Currently, petrol is priced at Rs259.1 per litre, while diesel stands at Rs262.75 per litre. The potential price cut is aimed at easing inflationary pressures on middle and lower-income households, although its effect on transportation costs and essential goods may vary. #PetrolPrices #DieselPrices #FuelCostReduction #PakistanEconomy #InflationRelief #MiddleClassSupport #TransportationCosts #smartnewspk

Pakistan's government raised petrol prices today, citing rising global oil prices. The increase of Rs4.53 per litre brings the new price to Rs293.94 per litre, effective immediately. This decision follows a fortnightly review of petroleum product prices by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). In a statement, the government justified the hike due to the recent surge in international oil prices. This latest increase marks the second petrol price hike in April, adding to the burden on Pakistani consumers already facing inflation. The price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been raised by Rs8.14 per litre, reaching Rs290.38 per litre. The impact of these price hikes on transportation costs, essential goods, and overall inflation is yet to be fully understood.
