Adrianna Stange and I co-hosted the CPHR BC & Yukon Roundtable last evening where we dug into the complexities of today’s workforce, fixed and growth mindsets and navigating a multigenerational workforce. Some interesting takeaways and questions emerged from our group discussion: ➡ Growth Mindset Takes Courage. A Fixed Mindset Takes Discipline. There is no right or wrong - Awareness of your mindset in whatever environment you’re operating in, is essential. ➡ Exercise and flex that muscle – Lean in to the part of your brain that might feel resistance to change. See what happens. ➡ Lead with positive intention – Attack ideas, Never people. Healthy and thriving company cultures stem from the core value that all ideas are worthy of discussion, consideration, time and space. ➡ Communication – How are we maintaining a healthy and effective level of communication in a reality that offers an overload of options and preferred methods? Balance digital and human in your workplace. ➡ Technology - How are people learning, adapting and remaining productive with the speed and rate of change? This is top of mind for Executive and Leadership teams. ➡ Connection - It means different things to everyone and when achieved, results in an increase in personal and professional fulfillment.
